How do you explain it to people?

its funny and I think I like Disney so much b/c it really is an escape from all reality. When I am Disney I have NO CLUE that is going on in the world, and it is nice to feel that way for a whole week.

EXACTLY!!!:thumbsup2

Whenever things around home start getting me down is when I start itching for a trip. I think my DH has finally come to terms with my addiction while not truly understanding it. And I quote "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy".

All my friends pretty much know me as the Disney obsessed girl that I am anyway. I think they stopped trying to understand why I love all things Walt Disney.Since I was a little girl until I am ripe old with age Disney will always be a huge part of my life and really I can't understand those who go and don't want to go back LOL now that's weird to me:rotfl:

I have the opposite problem. Friends who I don't think would like WDW think they should go because it must be great if I'm going again, and they want to find out what they are missing. (They think of me as a sophisticated traveler who has been all over, notice that I fit in a mini trip here every year, but usually have multi year gaps going back to other places).

My DH hates WDW, Orlando and Florida, but DS loves it (I think it's an absolute blast to do with a teen), and we do a mini trip almost every year -- leave DH at home and often meet up with extended family who love theme parks too. (Our main trip every year, though, is something we'll all like.)

Maybe these friends would like it, but I don't recommend Orlando for people that aren't into theme parks. Maybe that's because my husband can't stand the place, and I think they would feel the same way.: One woman is a single who mostly goes to France and Italy on vacations -- loves Paris especially -- likes opera, cooking classes, museums. One couple are big into the Outdoors -- fishing, hiking, biking, hunting (I recommended Rocky Mountain National Park to them (one of my very favorite places), and they loved that.) They loved NYC too and the vibe there -- did a first trip there last year. // If you don't like theme parks and don't tolerate crowds well, though, I don't think a trip here is a good idea.

If you like theme parks and have a blast with your kid or kids (or on your own or with other like minded traveling companions) at these kinds of places, Orlando is a great value, a great destination, and very addictive (It's tough to find somewhere else that compares as favorably for the price in my opinion.)
