I have a 6 foot tree that I cant figure out how to assemble
We make this thing we call a "treat box". You have to try it!
Take an empty kleenex box. Cut a few smallish holes in it, maybe one or two on each size. We usually make them about the diameter of three fingers (but you can experiment).
Then fill the box with cat treats! Maybe a handful or so. It may take a little time and encouragement to show your cat how to play with it, but in a little while, they will start pushing it around the room, rolling it, pawing it, tipping it over, jamming their little paws through the top, etc. They love it because the more they mess around with it, the more treats come out!!!
Our fat, lazy, easily bored kitty loves him a treat box!!
My fat, lazy cat opens radom doors all the time. Nothing like being by yourself and seeing a door open verrrrry sloooowly....
How about that big hole where the tissues come out? Do you cover that out? He might actually like something like this.

I was going to suggest a laser pointer. My cat is kinda neurotic and psycho. When she gets in those moods and I want to calm her down, I will throw a blanket over her. It calms her down right away. I don't know what it is, but she'll stay under there for hours. As soon as you remove the blanket, she becomes psycho kitty again.I am thinking about getting one of these. They love laser pointers and could chase the red dot all evening long if I would let them.

Classic!Perhaps it's time to call Confuse-a-Cat, Ltd.!!!

Catnip in this house is evil. My cat get VIOLENT and attacks people.

Bottle caps.
You can't leave a cap off your drink or kitty will bat it off the table and smack it around the kitchen for a while.
