how do YOU earn points on mypoints?

i'm a newbie at all this, so in past 2 or 3 days signed up for a # of rewards sites.

i don't understand how you earn points at mypoints.
i've gotten all these bonus emails, which say earn 10 points for reading something. but when i click on it, it doesn't work.

plus, there's no surfing pages posted, i think people were referring to it as the daily tour.

i'm earning faster at searchcactus, blink, and silverclicks.

how do you use MyPoints? maybe i'm not doing the right things.

Well, for the time being, it looks like mypoints has taken the daily tour 10 points down. You can get 100 points per month by ordering 6 free catalogs from shop at home (click on earn, try it out). With the bonus mails, you have to click the YES or NO button that is at the bottom of the email. The points will be credited over night.

i have text only emails so no buttons.
but there is a link, and under the link says, "points will be credited overnight" etc.

however, when i click on the link, it opens a page with an error: HTTP 500 Internal error

how do i know if this actually worked or not?


for the 6 catalogs, do you mean the shop at home one?
what does it mean if it says (once) under the link?

does that mean once a month or a one-time-only points reward?

sorry for all the questions... these programs can be so complicated sometimes

I would email mypoints about the bomus mail problem. That sounds like something wrong on their end. The only way to tell if it has worked is to check your points the next day and see if you have an extra 10 points for reading the mail.

The shop at home does say one time, but after you complete the offer, there will be a link that you click on to get your 100 points (most times when you complete some kind of there will be a link for you to click in order to get your points, always look for it!) the blue screen will say that you can do it again in 30 days. Everyone has been getting them for months and months.

What has been your experience with the catalog trials for the 100 points? I'd like to do it to get the 100 points but don't want to be obligated to continue with a subscription that I don't want to pay for. Also if you do it every month would'nt you have alot of magazines coming or how does that work? Thanks!!!

I never order the magazines. I don't want to have to fool with canceling subscriptions and such. When you go over there, type in FREE CATALOG into the search box, and you will get a list of free ones. I only order ones that look like someone in my family will be interested in them. I really can't tell that much of a difference in our mail since we must be on every junk mail list out there anyway LOL.
