I live in Central Florida, and make day trips often to WDW. I start getting withdrawal symptoms after a couple of weeks. How do all of you who live so far away wait a year (or more!) between trips?

Maybe it makes a difference that people who travel to do Disney usually do it for at least a week at a time. I don't know if my feet could take that kind of park-hopping marathon. Do you need recovery time?

Help me understand, my fellow DISers!

When the kids were younger, we would go every year and a half to two years. The last couple of years we've gone staying 2 weeks each time. This year, we can't go because of $$$ that needs to go elsewhere. My kids are so sad. And so am I. So many things remind them of it and they talk about it all the time. I wish we were close enough to drive.

It's been almost 3 years for me!! But the last time we went, I had thought I would never get to go back! So it was a great trip 'home'.
It has been about 5 years between trips for us the past 3 trips... So I am hoping in 2 more years.... sigh.

Big trips=lots of time to save and plan. We do other trips too, so WDW isn't our only place to go.

The economic realities help keep things in perspective. Imagine if it cost you several thousand dollars to visit every couple of weeks:scared1: And yes, I need a day of recovery when I return from WDW;)

A trip to WDW definitely feels like a marathon to us and we do need to recover from our vacation when we get home. We first went in 1999 as a family and didn't get back again until 2004 but we have been the last three years in a row and we will be leaving for the next trip at the end of Februrary. We think of it as an annual event like Christmas. We do the planning all year and talk about it and dream about it and then it is here. It is my dream some day to move to Florida when the kids are grown to get away from the cold and hopefully visit WDW more often but for now the annual trips will have to suffice. :wizard:

Hi,

I have a large credit card balance so need to pay that off before next trip.

Jim

Yep, it's economical reasons for us as well.

And as previously mentioned credit card debt will keep us home for a while.

We would also like our youngest two to be a bit older.

Being on here helps! That and getting the All Ears Newletter each week!

Oh you lucky duck.:donald:

Gosh, I haven't been in a year and I am going through MAJOR Disney withdrawel. (sp? Cause ya know my spelling stinks /=).

I can't wait till we go back.. I think we might be going in the fall. Well. Hopefully anyway.
