How do you display your Disney Collectables

Great ideas and great pictures! When it comes to pins we have them displayed in many different ways. Some are in display cases, some are framed as purchased from Disney, some are framed with backgrounds and groupings that I create, some are just all put together on a bulletin board type display.

Other collectibles we display in cases, or hanging on a wall, on a ledge in our bedroom (Big Figs), or on a bookshelf. It depends on the collectible.

:rotfl: Each year my hubby and I go to Disney , I always take the pictures that I took the year befor back with us and have the character that is in the photo sign them, I always try and take an extra picture for the character to have also, then when we get home I frame the photo and a pin,(that I picked up while at Disney) This makes a very pretty picture for your wall... :flower:

Hello everyone,

I am not really new to Disboards, but I am new to teh collectors board; I think I will like it here.

The things I collect are primarily WDCC figurines. They are all in glass curio cabinets, and those are... in my parent's living room, since I still live with my parents. I have three of those cabinets currently up in the living room (and I have three of them still packed up in the basement, but I think my mom kills me if I put one more up in the living room! lol) Since they are filled up, some of the figurines found their way back to the box (like Belle's fountain) One day, I will libe by myself, and be able to display them correctly.

Until recently, my pins were just thrown in a box, 3 weeks ago, I bought a pin display/carrying bag (however you call those things they sell at Disneyland), and have put my pins in there. I am not really a trader, since I just buy and collect, but that way, they are organized!
I have some framed pin sets. One frame is hanging in my parent's living room, all the others are in their box under my bed. I know, it's a shame.

All the Mickey and Minnie chinaware I collected during the years is in boxes on the attic/ in the basement/ all over the house, as is the kitchenware I bought (a wafflemaker today!!! OK, that's not a collectible, but still... first time ever they sell it in belgium, and I have it!) It is all waiting for me to go live by myself (as if that will happen soon) and use it!

I"ve taken about a dozen or so of the American flag pins and framed them on an American Flag. I positioned the pins on the stripes and took it to a framer and framed them. Really nice. I had a commeritive Epcot admission ticket and framed the Mickey Flag pins from Epcot on it . These hang as art work. If anyone has the Mickey Balloon pins frame them on a really nice photo of the Castle. Make a copy of an 8 x 10 of the photo and position the balloons around the castle. Have fun with the pins and pictures. You don"t have to spend alot and if you think about it they framed pin sets sell for a lot more in the parks....

I use to be a big pin trader until a bad event, so I switched to getting themed ones. I was getting so many I did not know what to do until I had an idea. I got a picture of like, tinker bell and I framed in with a matt border and I put all the tinker bell pins in the matt. I also use cork and make time lines like for Cinderella. Then I use things like the reservation paper from the Cinderella castle to decorate it.

Large pieces we put on shelves in the dining room.

Pins we have in shadow boxes that hang in the computer room. Currently have 6 shadow boxes up and enough pins for about 6 more. Need to do that some day soon.

For our antenna toppers DH made a display rack using small dowel rods of various hights. Looks great.

I know that lots of people decorate their homes with lots of Disney stuff. I actually have an entire room in my basement that is appropriately called "The Disney Room." I have spent over twenty-five years collecting Disney stuff and it had to have it's very own home.

I'd love to share details about the room, but you can just visit it my clicking my website link at the bottom of this message. Let me know what you think.

Enjoy

Wow all your collections sound so cool. I can't wait till DFiance and I purchase our first home. Currently we're living with roomates so our display space is limited and is just a few ride photos and globes on our T.V stand. I've got some rubbermaid containers I've been stashing Disney items in for our home (hopefully 10/06). We also began collecting pins regulary now so I'm working on a good collection and checking out way to display them. Love the ideas here.

Most of my house is filled with Disney collectibles.

My pins are on a regular corkboard that hangs in my living room.

I have several cabinets for my snowglobes (I have over 150 in various sizes). I also keep some on top of cabinets and on tables.

I put my antenna toppers on bamboo skewers, then add them to a vase (like a bouquet of flowers). That sits on my coffee table.

My frames are on each of the snowglobe cabinets, on our entertainment center, and of end tables.

If anyone would like me to post pictures, let me know. I can do so this weekend.

When you frame pins, how do you do that? I mean, it's not like framing a regular picture, because the back of the pin is rather "thick"????

I have only done one yet. I put cork in the back of the picture and then stuck the pins in the cork and put it in the frame.
I think the most important thing is that the frame is deep.
