When we came back from WDW in April, we or I should say I decided we would go back next April. We also decided to stay onsite, getting two rooms @ POP. The family is Me, DH, DD14, DD5, DD3, DD7 months (@ time of travel). I emailed Mousetyme Vacations for rates to book the trip but they couldn't give me rates for 2006. So since that time DH and I have been talking about maybe waiting until 2007 to go when the baby will be almost 2 and maybe taking a trip somewhere less expensive next year. In the last week, I have gotten quotes from mousetyme and a friend came back with pics of a pool home where she stayed with her family. I am so torn as to if we should go next year, and if we should stay onsite or in a pool home. DH is no help, his answer for everything is "whatever you want to do, hon." The only thing that is pretty much a sure thing is the time of year since DH is a teacher. With all the choices, how do you make any difinitive decisions?! Doesn't help that I am an aquarius and we are indecisive people!!! :rotfl:

I'd stay on site. I like to use the Disney transportation when I'm on vacation. I wouldn't want to drive to the parks everyday, then hike to the park from the parking lot, and then try and remember where I parked my car at the end of the day. I'd much rather hop on a bus and be dropped off right at the gate. Plus, if you get a pool home, you'll have a kitchen. I personally don't want to have a kitchen or feel like I have to cook when I'm on vacation.

I am a Gemini..so I will tell you what you should do..and ramble on about it forever to the point where you have no idea what the question was you even asked...lol :goodvibes

That said...we went through the same delema (sp)...
Ultimitly chose to stay on Disney.
Our factors were...
Bang for the Buck...esp. with the DIning plan..we thought it was a really great price to eat all week, esp. since it included Character Meals, and you can substitute 2 table service for a Dinner show..(we definatly would not have booked as many if we didn't have the meal plan.) sorry if this is repetitive, don't know if they had this option when you went last year.

Also extra magic hours, and themed pools, and Transportation..even if you are renting a car..I think its easier to just have to drive around the world..then having to drive around an unfamiliar city just to get into DW.

Have you tried booking through Dreamsunlimited.com ??? They were great to us. I just booked a DC for Dec 2006, and they had prices and everything already..so i am sure you could get quotes for next year now through them.

Hope that helped a little..I would say Stay on Disney no matter what...but thats just me.
Have fun whatever you decide.
*don't feel bad, my hubby is the "Do whatever you want hun" kind of guy too. Its nice..but sometimes you really do want their input..LOL* :teeth:

I also second the no cooking on vacation thing...i was thinking that too..but forgot to write it. Vacation means..."mommy dosen't cook or clean!" lol, does in my book anyway. :wizard:

Dh and I went to DW 2 times and stayed offsite, then in Jan 2004 we stayed onsite and now neither of us want to stay offsite again. We love being right in the middle of Disney, we enjoy the whole world stopping while we are onsite and enjoying pure magic. I look at it this way, we can rent pool homes in other states, but can only do Disney in Florida and California but we hae NO desire to go out there for Mickey
good luck

With four kids, it makes it so much easier to stay on-site. No track to the parking lots, no driving in traffic and you can hop on a bus & you guys will be back in your resort in 20 minutes. Even POP is not cheap by off-site standards but on-site amenities are so worth it IMO.
Have you considered Swan/Dolphin? They have an on-going discount for teachers based on availability and it might not be much more than POP.

With kids your ages I'd stay onsite just for the ease of getting to MK. If you stay offsite and drive you'll have to take a tram from parking lot to TTC to take the monorail or ferry to actual park entrance. If you stay onsite you take a bus right to the park entrance.

I took my 3 children when my youngest was 11 months and 21 months. She was so much easier at 11 months! But I must admit I think she enjoyed it more at 21 months.
