As you can see from my ticker, it 28 days since I got back from Florida. It really does feel like my "other home" and my family feel the same way. Right now, I just feel so "homesick" for Florida and I'd do anything to be there today. Since we got back our lives have been so stressful and I've got really run down physically. I know that I should be grateful we just had an amazing three weeks but in a way this feels like the worst time as I don't know when we will get the chance to go back. I start my first post as a teacher in a sixth-form college in three weeks and so now we are confined to school holidays which makes things more expensive and means I can't just go off for a month to Florida in February if I feel like it lol! Also, everyone seems to be going on holiday now amongst my friends and a girl I grew up with is moving out there next week.

I know you guys feel the same from time to time! C'mon, what are your best strategies for overcoming the Florida homesickness? And don't you dare say start planning the next trip :lmao:!

I do a photo album and a scrapbook of my trip. This helps us to re-live 'the moments' and keeps the dream alive :goodvibes

I know what you mean tho, it is so hard not knowing if you can afford to go back!

Good luck with your new job

One of the first things I do is download my photos and start my trip report, it's a great way to re-live your holiday.

You can't beat booking another holiday though :thumbsup2

:wizard: Good Luck with your new job

I can't.... :sad2: I'm hopeless. I love FL so much that I get upset every time I see, hear, smell etc. anything that reminds me of FL or WDW, and that happens a lot, haha! Hubby is the same so we're hoping to be able to move to FL at some point, or at least be able to go back there very soon! :goodvibes:wizard:

The only way is to look forward and plan another holiday.

To be honest we feel really lucky to have been as many times as we have, 15, but it is nice to have a holiday booked.

Busy life at home and with work don't necessarily 'think Florida' all the time, but the DIS kind of keeps you in touch.

I've been feeling really down since we got back Tuesday last week especially as our sons didn't feel the Disney magic this time and have said they don't want to go back. They have said they will do something different so I am now looking at a split holiday between Universal Studios and Clearwater. We have not driven over there yet even though I know a lot of you say its fine so there will be that to look forward to - NOT! I've already offered to do 2 lots of overtime this week for extra cash towards it although it may have to be 2011 before we go back. We are stuck to summer because of the boys schooling but only for another 3 years! Good luck with the new job.

I'm usaually okay however was in the Disney Store yesterday and they were playing clips from the parks and it made me feel down as this should be are run up to our holiday and I would of been really excited if I had not had to cancel.

It helps that I have lots of planning for next year and knowing I don't have to cancel as it is in the summer holidays, plus not long till I can book AKV and also have other bits and pieces to book such as Poly and HRH, plus also got DLRP for my birthday. Going to be depressing in september though when I am in uni lectures when I would of been on holiday.

Lol, thanks for resurrecting my thread :goodvibes. I know what you mean about wanting to move to Florida, we actually planned to when I was still at school but our circumstances changed. I'd still like to move to America one day and live the dream. Thanks for the advice everyone :thumbsup2.
