How do you cope with the anticipation

Park loops on Subsonic app, DISboards, Disney Parks blog, Touring Plans blog, other blogs, reoptimize personalized touring plans, watch Disney movies. Who am I kidding? I do this even when I am over a year out, much less only a couple of months:rotfl2:I am also starting to plan a shorter trip in summer 2017 before a cruise and another adults-only for my birthday/Food & Wine in November 2017.

Definitely reading the disboards is huge, started following some Disney twitter accts last year that brings me news or links to interesting articles, chat disney with friends at work or patrons who come in that I know are big Disney fans or have trips coming up, have lots of Disney in the kitchen and around the house, all of which makes me feel connected as best I can, til our next trip!

I like to watch all the blogs on youtube. The "See Ya Real Soon" couple is a favorite of mine. Disney park bench and any of those "a walk through ....." videos where they walk around the parks. I do keep a close eye on the dis for any last minute changes or tips. I also research the places we will eat and make ADR's that I later cancel because I can't afford them.

Yay! I am not the only crazy 1 that is planning the 2017 trip already, LOL! My Husband thinks I am nuts! I'm already talking about it and yesterday he asked me if he's going to have to hear me talk about this trip for the next year, lol. I said probably, LOL...This is what happens when we miss a year going to Disney (we aren't going this year ) Anyways I am already planning what dining options and stuff we want bc you know September is just around the corner (thats when I need to book my dining), well at least it is in my crazy obsessed Disney planning head, LOL

We have 157 days until we leave and the anticipation is killing me! I spend an insane amount of time reading these boards. I also like to watch YouTube videos. At 20 days out I would probably be going over my touring plans a million times and triple and quadruple checking my packing list! But then again, I'm a bit of an obsessive over planner lol. I would also be stalking all the wait times at various times throughout the day to get an idea of what it will be like when I'm there. I like to quiz my family with, "What will we be doing exactly 2 weeks from today?" Yes, I'm a nerd like that! :rotfl:

cope with it? i revel in it. i use count down timers apps to the minute of when our flight departs. all the planning, the packing, it's brilliant... because all too soon we will be flying home again with the only thing for certain in the future is laundry, lots and lots of laundry and cleaning.

Disboards, packing and repacking (i'm a nut i know), last minute schedule changes. Start thinking about our next trip. lol

How about being too busy to have time to dwell on it? We have a little more than 3 weeks to go, and 3 travel cheer competitions between us and Disney. Not sure when Disney packing is getting done!

I send DH a Disney meme every day to count down. I try to make them relative to our day. Today I'm at home with a puking kid so I sent him one that said "I'm just trying to hold it together until I can make it back to Disney".

With a 20+ day wait standing between us and our vacation I wonder: What's the spoonful of sugar that helps you stomach the countless hours leading up to your vacation?

My husband loves to read menus for all the restaurants to see what's new (or even reread the stuff that's old). We talk about what we'd like to do, check out ride closures, look at our Magic Bands in anticipation, and talk about future plans.

When it comes to work and having to deal with that...I just keep thinking that each work day gets me one step closer to buying a new hoodie or souvenir or something at Disney.

Using disboards & easyWDW to ask any questions before the trip! =).

Watching Youtube clips to find out the best strategies of tackling each park.

Also, I like to put various audio Disney soundtracks (Wishes, Festival of Fantasy Parade) on my phone to play while I am at work.

What clips do you watch?

Unfortunately I think I am too obsessive all year for there to be much uncovered territory on the internet once I get close. Lol. Fortunately they'll be crafting and packing.

We are 24 days out!! I am so pumped I can't stand it. I have been living on the dis (hopefully I don't get fired :rolleyes1) We are staying off site so were just able to book our FP over the weekend. Now that I have that stress over with I guess I will start to plan out what to pack!!! I do like to read trip reports too so I can live through them till I get there! :rotfl:

This was us. I think we had maybe 1 weekend to ourselves (where we weren't away visiting family, or having family visiting us) in the 1.5-2 months before our trip. There was constant packing and unpacking and logistics of what we were doing and when. There just wasn't time to dwell on the upcoming trip.

I try to minimize the anticipation. I used to get so worked up over a WDW visit, I'd have trouble sleeping the few nights before a trip. I think I actually spent some mornings at WDW delirious from excitement and lack of sleep. I would run completely on adrenaline until I was exhausted. But that wore off after the first dozen or so trips. If I had that kind of excitement now at my age I'd likely be hospitalized...or institutionalized.

I remember when I booked our vacation and we were like 238 days out. Now I'm 74 days out and I can't believe it! I've planned this trip and re-planned this trip so obsessively. I finally took a step back and kind of stopped the obsessing over the holidays, and that was good because before I knew it, November and December were gone and here I am in January, the month of my FastPass reservations (the 25th!) and March just doesn't seem that far away! It's actually getting easier for me the closer it gets. I'll be paying the balance left on the trip next week and, as I said, making FastPasses on the 25th. Then I'll be waiting for the Magic Bands to come in the mail! I'll probably do the online check-in as soon as possible, and go ahead and order our BOG breakfast online too! My goal is to get in the car in the wee hours of the pre-dawn morning (4am) on the day we're driving down, have a safe (11 hour) trip to Orlando, and get to the Coronado with everything in place so we can start enjoying our much (MUCH) anticipated and long-time-comin' vacation ASAP!

I also try to spend time planning another vacation (probably this summer) that my mother and I hope to take to Kentucky. We're horse folks (have three of them of my own) and we're planning a visit to Coolmore Stud with the hopes of seeing American Pharoah in person. So I plan our stops along the way (hopefully swing through Asheville to stop at Biltmore and maybe see some friends who live up that way), and I research places to stay in the area where we'll be and other farms we might like to tour.

But, I love the anticipation. It's fun to have something so great to look forward to.

I finally got my DH to agree to the trip I've been "planning" for years! I have to hold back sooo much so I don't overwhelm and annoy him with my obsession. I read the DIS boards, some YouTube vlogs, trip reports. I convinced my mom to come with us too, so hopefully I can get some of my planning craziness out with her.

I would seriously love to go to KY. We are horse people too and I would love for my son to be able to see the Kentucky Horse Park and Churchhill Downs and all the other horsey places to see in Kentucky, lol. Sometimes just for fun I think about and plan a trip to KY in case we ever get to go there, lol. Usually we only do 1 trip per year and its usually Disney. Sometimes we get to do 2 trips in my husband has a work conference but I will keep holding out for KY, lol.
