We have them Pan Fried.

DH heats the frying pan up really hot.

He coats the steak with some cooled down melted butter, so it sticks to the steak as the butter has now solidified, then pan fries them. Medium Rare - nice and juicy!

He's tried quite a few methods and this one works the best so far. :thumbsup2

Always cooked on the grill, but for me, temperature depends on the cut of beef. If it's a filet mignon, I go rare. All other cuts, I go medium rare.

Marinate in fridge for days. Then let sit out for a couple hours to get to room temperature. Then throw 'em on the grill!

Med. well with green fried 'maters and iced tea! Yum-yum! :thumbsup2

I use a steak rub and let it marinade overnight. If it's cold outside, I'll use the broiler. If it's warm outside, I'll fire up the grill. Medium well for me.

Medium rare, on the grill, with salt and pepper only.

I cook mine in an iron skillet. I pour olive oil into the skillet and heat it over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Once the skillet is good and hot, I put the steaks in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side and it's a perfect medium well. I season it with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Yummm!

On the grill, seasoned with garlic and onion salt, cooked medium.

Now I want steak for dinner!

We don't have a grill down here so we broil them. I season them, The Amazin' Cajun' from Whole Foods for DH and salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, onion powder on mine. Medium Rare for both of us. I almost only buy New York Strip Steaks ... we have found them to be hands down the best ones.

On the grill, usually just salt and pepper. Filet, medium.

Good steak doesn't need anything to mask it's flavor =)

Either on the grill or in a cast-iron skillet to sear, then in a very hot oven for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the thickness.

DH comes from a long line of butchers. He says it all depends on the cut of meat what method to use for cooking it. He will not put filet on the grill.

Whatever. Who am I to argue? He goes to the store to pick it out, cooks it to perfection and serves it up.

I like mine on the grill. Medium rare. Sprinkled with a small amount of sea salt, pepper and garlic. Yum

I also like pan fried steak made in an iron skillet.

medium-rare on the grill, with gorganzola crumbled on top.........

on the grill with a generous sprinkling of seasoned salt...yum, needs no other seasoning! :thumbsup2 Med. rare for DH, med. for me...

On the grill, Montreal steak seasoning a little salt. Med Well for me, Med for DH.

It's cold but beautiful here today, the grill might need to come out soon!

Combination cooking here- preheat oven to 500 degrees and turn on a stove burner to high. Steaks at room temp are lightly coated with olive oil, kosher salt and pepper on one side. Iron skillet is put on stove burner until sizzling, then steaks put on seasoned side down for 30 seconds (during this time season the other side) and turn for another 30 seconds. Put steaks (along with the skillet!) in the preheated oven for 3 minutes, then turn and do another 2-4 minutes depending on how you want it.
Wonderful!

fried ,well done , with fried onions and mushrooms and covered in my own creamy peppercorn sauce with a touch of brandy... served on tagliatelle

i can almost taste it right now......
