I have 2 methods!

I soak them in some hot water with some hair shampoo for a while then use a nail brush on them.

Perhaps once or twice a year I'll throw them in the washing machine - like today for instance! :p

On my kids I use soap and water. I am with oogie on mine. I just throw mine away and get new ones.

I have a really expensive wooden one that I clean a lot. I just use warm soapy water. I lose a lot of hair, I guess because my hair is really thick. I just got it cut into layers, and it curls up and I gets more tangles. So I have to clean it more often!:D

Soaking them in bleach & water works wonders. However, I don't recommend this method with the wooden ones.

I usually clean them with soap and water if they get bag enough. After a year, I pitch them and buy new ones - like I need to do with my current comb, it is in pretty bad shape!
