How do you clean teddy bears and other stuffed animals?

My DD has her favorite pink teddy bear which is starting to get ready to need cleaning, but I don't want to take any chances of ruining it. Whats the best way to clean it?

We found a cleaner at FOA Schawtz called Bubble Gund. It is a gentle spray on clearner designed for Gund animals but would work on any teddy bear.

I think a gentle cleaning with any light cleaner would do (like Woolight). Just don't go too heavy on the soap.

99% of kids stuffies are machine washable. I have lots of stuffies for the dogs, and I wash them regularily. They look like new afterwards!

I do the same thing as Diane. They always come out looking like new.:D

I toss them in the washing machine as well. Some of the more fragile ones I place in pillow cases, wrap the end with a rubber band to keep them from escaping, and then wash them.

I do the same as aprincessmom...put them in a pillowcase, and I make sure the washer is on delicate...they come out nice and clean!

I also toss mine in the washer in a pillowcase, it works great!

I do know Natalie's have been machine washed for years, especially her still favorite, cream colored 'Teddie' I got her when she was about five. :)

I put them in pillow cases and put them in the washer machine on gentle. I haven't had a problem yet!

My DS's teddy was so gunky looking from being everywhere with him when he was little. He never took another look at it until our new baby came along. Suddenly he wants his old favorite baby "blankie" & teddie bear. Okay...not a problem. I understand why....;)

The teddy was so bad, I just put it in one of those mesh laundry bags, washed it in cold/delicate cycle with Dreft (the soap I use for baby's clothes) & it came out beautiful. I even thru it in the dryer with a dryer sheet & it smells so wonderful! (The tag said to spot wash it! HA!) :teeth:

I figured, if I ruined it, then I'd just tell him it was lost!

Good luck!

Washing machine, just like regular laundry, then onto the dryer so they fluff up. I usually wash them all together. Don't wash them with your clothes, or you'll end up with fuzz.
