How do you buy your Myway tickets?

Our trip is quickly approaching so it's time to think about our tickets! I was wondering how fellow Canadians buy their park tickets? We've decided not to buy them at CAA since it's not a deal for what we want. I know that it's cheaper to order tickets in advance from Disney rather than buy them at the gate. Are there other options I should know about? TIA :D

We booked with disney online and took a Magic your way package, so will have our tickets on our arrival day at Disney in 28 days!!!

We redeemed Air Miles to get some of our tickets. We redeemed for 7-day base tickets and upgraded them to get hopping privileges at the guest services counter at the WDW resort after check-in.

My understanding is that you would get better value from your Air Miles to redeem them for flights. But, in our case, it has never work out for us to use the Air Miles for flights, so we used them to get the MYW tickets.

I was going to purchase my tickets through Ticketmania.com. They have free shipping to Canada, and are considerably cheaper than the Disney website. Their prices include tax. If you subscribe to the mousesavers.com newsletter, you get even more of a discount. The newsletter comes out on the 15th of each month, and has the discount link on it.

There is substantial savings on a 7-day ticket -- basically the same price as a 4-day!

I was just waiting for the Cdn dollar to go back up a bit before purchasing :-)

thanks everyone!

amw - Quick question for you. Do you know how much more you save on tickets if you go through the mousesavers link? I subscribe to the newsletter, but already deleted the last one so I can't check myself. By my calculations, for a 9 day pass, we'd save about $16 with ticketmania rather than buying from Disney directly. I was wondering how much more we could save through mousesavers.

Thanks for your help everyone! :)

With mousesavers we were only saving a dollar per ticket plus free shipping

The Disney Stores have set pricing in Cdn. dollars, so they are not subject to the fluctuations of our weak dollar. All you have to do is call the store, order the tickets you need, and they will call you when they arrive, which usually is in about 2 weeks.

I bought mine online (official Disney site) and picked them up at the gate. Quick, easy, bring the confirmation that you print up and done!

CJK - I just checked the mousesaver price for a 9-day base pass, and it was $207 (all taxes included, and free shipping). It's definitely better than ordering form Disney US. A 7-day base pass is almost $15 cheaper than gate price.

As for the Disney store in Canada, the prices are set, but they're set at a rate of approx. 75 cents/dollar. Depending on what your credit card charges for exchanging money is, it's probably still cheaper with our current dollar to buy from the US sites - but each person has to decide for themselves. I know if you're planning to buy a hopper pass it is better to go with Disney Stores in Canada because they only charge $35 CDN more for that (rather than $35 US for the american passes).

I still haven't figured it all out myself yet :-) I'm wondering with credit card charges, if it's cheaper to bring US cash to the gates?!

Roughly speaking, it's a wash. The discount for early ordering roughly offsets the foreign currency surcharge.

Don't overlook the 10 day pass (its only a few dollars more than the 7 or 9 day pass). We bought the 10 day pass (with no expiration and plus options) -- only five days were used in our trip this spring, leaving us 5 days for our next visit.

I've read your post and was thinking about doing the same thing..getting my base tickets thru air miles and upgrading there. I've seen where some folks did not get the full DW credit for their base ticket. How did you make out? Did you get full credit and just pay the difference to upgrade? Thanks for responding! We're going in June.

I have 3 single days and a couple of pluses left on tickets. Can I upgrade them as WDW to a 4 day with dining plan?

We used Air Miles for some tickets and Ticketmania for others. Both worked well, but I think the Air Miles ones were too many Air Miles for what we bought.
