hi, feel like i'm bombarding with questions - i am new and this is our first trip!! Have had great answers to other questions so far, so thanks.

I am planning to book a package through disney for next march. My mum thought i was mad and should book through a travel agents direct that i could walk into.

I am keen to do a package as we havne't travelled much and not abroad with children - i feel i need the security of it if that makes sense but am interested to hear about what others do.

we are hoping to fly from Bristol and then transfer - on a friday morning and back either on sunday night or monday night

thanks

Disneyland Paris are members of ABTA and ATOL, so you have the same protection as you would have from a travel agent.

Most people (including me!) find it much cheaper to book the hotel+tickets+breakfast+half board vouchers (if you want them) through disney directly and then do flights through an airline then with a package with a travel agent or a flight inclusive package with disney.

A travel agent will just book you accomodation through disney (and charge you a fee as part of their price to do this!) so I would personally just do it myself.

That are lots of very friendly people on this board to give you a hand, so feel free to ask lots of questions :goodvibes .

Even on my first trip to DLRP with my DD, I didn't book with a travel agent.

I booked the hotel and tickets package through Disney direct, and then booked our flights separately, with our local budget airline. Paid for coach transfers when we got there. I had no problems at all, and wouldn't think of doing it any other way :goodvibes .

I booked with Disney direct last year and they were cheaper than the travel agents.
This time I'm looking at just booking accommodation etc., with Disney and booking the flights separately as it works out quite a bit cheaper.

Hi, I'm a package girl. I like everything organised for me because I'm a worrier and I don't travel very often. I booked direct through Disney and this included: flights from B'ham with AirFrance, transfers, hotel accommodation, half board and park tickets. Everything is included and that makes me very happy. The only thing I did myself was holiday insurance. I declined Disney's (which was £52), and got a similar level of cover off moneysupermarket.com for £10. I think it's probably cheaper to book flights separately if you have an airport close by with a budget airline flying from it. I couldn't get AirFrance flights cheaper than Disney quoted me. Good luck with your booking. Don't bother with a travel agent, they just phone Disney for a quote anyway!

I think that's how i feel AND because its our first trip i would worry incase anything went wrong because of me messing up. thanks

i felt the same when i booked my first trip in october. i booked the hotel with disney, flights from aer lingus and transfers from bs transport. really it was quite easy in the end and i saved quite a bit compared to the travel agent

We've always booked separately. Use the credit card for extra security and piece of mind.
Advantage to phoning Disney direct rather than on-line is you only pay 10% deposit initially :thumbsup2

Our next trip is the first time I haven't booked a package through a Tour Operator.
I booked the hotel and tickets direct with Disney over the phone, very easy and as mentioned you only pay a 10% deposit, although we're also travelling in March which means the balance is due early Jan :scared1: I had my documents emailed to me from Disney and they all arrived quickly and safely.
I booked my flights with Airmiles online and had my docs. posted to me, they were with me within a couple of days, it was all remarkably easy.:thumbsup2
The VEA Disney shuttle is easy to organise, you can prebook or just turn up and pay the driver or lots of DISers have used private taxi transfers or even rail, although despite reading lots about it I'm not confident to do that despite it's advantages.
We've flown from Bristol, but I chose Cardiff this time as it's quite a bit closer for us.

So far the whole thing has been very easy and I've no doubt saved us quite a bit of cash at the same time. :)
