How do you book your Disney vacation?
WDW website?
AAA?
Travel Agent?
Do they all offer the same deals??
Thanks in advance
Once in a while you can score a discount on room only on sites like Orbitz or Expedia.
AAA has a standard room only discount which also applies to packages. The room only discount can be reserved with Disney CRO or AAA. The discount for packages (a package is room + tickets and/or dining) must be booked with AAA. Of course, you must be a AAA member
Other TAs really don't have much in terms of discounts. You can get a little discount in tickets when purchased separately via AAA or sites like
Undercover Tourist, but you are talking a few dollars.
When Disney offers come out, like 15%-30% off rooms or
free dining, these can be booked by TAs or Disney, however the price is fixed and cannot be discounted at all.
Bottom line, a TA does not provide any real savings other than making calls for you.
I would usually book myself, and then transfer the reservation to AAA. In the past, they had their 'Disney week' or month and they would have an a free Visa Gift card so I would then transfer my reservation to them. But this year, they switched to a 'AAA Gift card' which is pretty useless, and they require full payment at time of booking (somewhat ridiculous).
AAA does have a few perks like the Diamond Pass which gives you access to preferred parking, and reserved viewing area for fireworks.
