The thing you must keep in mind is that DVC buys your accomodations. We are planning our second trip in december to our home resort. We will be staying in a 1-bedroom villa at BWV. We paid about $980 in annual dues last January on a 200 point $15,000 contract.
Being a budget conscious guy, I am now putting together a budget analysis on what it will cost to get all four of us down there from Seattle, WA for a 14 night vacation.
Airfare: $940
car rental: $230 for 14 days
annual pass for the four of us using dvc discount: $1100
a day at SeaWorld: $200
Mickeys Very Merry Ripoff Christmas
$125
Dining out at
BOMAS BREAKFAST
CHEF MICKEYS DINNER
AKERSHURS DINNER
WHISPERING CANYON LUNCH
PRIME TIME CAFE LUNCH
for a family of four and using DDE: $350
Other groceries and spending: $300
on and on and on and on:
We think we will spend about $3200 when all is said and done AND THAT IS NOT INCLUDING THE DVC COSTS.
But, spending time with my wife and kids in the happiest place on earth is a priceless gift. Vacationing does cost money. The most important thing is to spend time with your family whether that be at a campsite or at Disney World. It really is about setting priorties.
