How do yall get to a DVC resort? Plane, train or automobile

We always fly;it's only 2.5 hours out of Newark, so there's no way I'll consider 20 hours in a car. Many years ago my DH & I went on a fishing vacation w/friends in the wilds of Tenessee & our car blew the waterpump in West VA. @ 10:00 PM; after 7 hours in a truck stop & DH having to change it himself using the mechanics tools, because the mechanics were too busy, I swore that was it for long drives!!! Told DH if it's more that a five hour drive we fly.

If we have limited time, we fly. However, if we have a couple of weeks, we usually drive. DH is not retired yet, but we get to go to WDW at least once a year for a conference and once on vacation. We have relatives and friends in Alabama so we take the first day to stop and visit and stay near Birmingham and then drive on in to WDW the next day. We live NE of Indianapolis, IN and it take us about 17-20 hours to drive it depending upon the route we choose.

Fly, Fly and Fly. Untill flights become overly expensive, I will not subject my self to the road trips that still haunt me from my younger part of life.

:)

Flying use to be the only way we could go, due to limited time off from work! We even took Amtrak one time, never again! Now that we are retired we drive twice a year. It is about 18 hours door to door, and once we pass the DC area the trip is a breeze! It's nice to have your own vehicle with you, there is a lot more room for bring back the souvenirs!!

We always fly out of Logan (Boston). Try to get a non-stop.
We also try to get a flight as early in the morning as possible. Most times we can, but sometimes when we plan a last minute trip we fly into Tampa. I'm still waiting for Disney to build a monorail from Boston. LOL!!

I have been taking Amtrak to WDW for about 12 years. I truly enjoy the train, and since I'm retired, I have the luxury of time to spend on the rails. My vacation begins the moment I step on board. :D
