How do wheelchair/scooter return times work on rides @ DL?

We're headed back to DL next month (March) but this time my elderly MIL will be joining us. She'll be using a scooter. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but I'm having a hard time finding info about wheelchair/scooter ride return times on Disneyland's website.

I don't think she'll qualify for a DAS pass since she'll be using the scooter. MIL can stand and wait in line if the wait is short (like 15 min), but anything longer than that and she'll have to sit. And she can't walk for long distances, hence her using the scooter.

Let's say she wants to go on Pinocchio but the wait is 30 minutes long. How would that work?

You go up to the ride and there should be a CM around before you enter the line. Ask for a wheelchair return time, they’ll scan your parties tickets and issue you the return time. No need for the DAS! Lines in DCA are accessible so that’s nice. I recommend having the scooter person within eyesight of the CM but have someone else bring all the tickets to the CM, it’s easier than maneuvering the scooter that close to the line ride.

For Pinocchio and a lot of the classic dark rides (except PPF) you would actually just enter and board at the exit right away instead of getting a return time.
I recommend approaching the exit area and asking what they prefer you do. If the line is longer than 15-20 mins they will issue a return time. It depends on how busy it is at the time. At Christmas, all rides were issuing return times at some point. If the line is under 10 mins, they will try and board you without much wait.

I have been to DL in a wheelchair many times. The only Fantasyland rides that will issue a return time is Peter Pan and Alice. The others you go to the exit, or the designated wheelchair entrance, like Toad and they will board you in a short time. Unless there is a line of wheelchairs in line in front of you.

However, if you do rope drop and go right to PP or Alice, they will let you right it, unless there are other chairs in front of you. This only lasts about 10 - 15 mins until the regular lines start to get long.

If this is confusing, just ask the CM at the outside of the ride and they will explain it to you.

I didn't realize that. We haven't been there during the extremely busy times like Christmas so we haven't had to get a return time on any of those rides (except PPF of course). Do they have you report to the red umbrella they use for Peter Pan for all the rides?
