How do we keep the Disney MAGIC going?

We've recently returned from a trip to WDW, and I think I have DH about 60% convinced that we can afford to go again in about a year. But honestly, a year seems like such a long time...

What do you (and/or your family) do to keep the "magic" alive until your next trip? Do you have any traditions, goals, etc. that encourage you while you're busy living your real lives?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to start this thread; didn't know what other thread was better!

Thanks!

I do several different things.
1. Slideshow on computer. Once I have the photos in the correct order, I have DH & DD help me with the captions.
2. I do spring cleaning  every month. Pretend I just found a must see from our most recent trip. Brings back lots of good memories.
3. This past weekend we got out all the pins to decide which ones are staying home. Told DD we wouldn't want to trade your favorites when we go. Next month we'll do this again as favorites are always changing.
4. We go online to our vacation on WDW website and start making plans. We checked out every restaurant online 2 months before we could make our ADR's. DD loves getting on line and helping plan. We are also making our maps and will have them finished in April. (don't want them coming too early) DH just says whatever you want to do sounds good to me :confused3.

Have fun planning. :thumbsup2

We decided to finish our basement & we had plans to turn it into a Disney family room. That was loads of fun choosing the paint colors, furniture, lamps, etc.

Now that the family room is done...I've been turning our kitchen into a Disney kitchen. My long, white Mickey bench just arrived last week!!

In-between trips, I also plan our matching Disney t-shirts for our next trip. We wear matching shirts each day of our trip.

I also scrapbook each WDW trip - that takes a while.

i love disneyworld....as soon as i come home i get disney sick to go back...lol....coming on disboards helps me ....talking about it..helping others plan...helps me alot.....BUT I MISS IT!!!.just got back Jan 22nd we went celebrate my birthday there from 18th thru 22nd......But Miss it already there...My husband say we not going back till next year in Oct of 2009....for the Mickey not so scarey party....:hourglass ..we went to the 1st pirates and princess party of this year on the 21st on my birthday...WE LOVED IT!!!BEAUTIFUL PARTY.....we had so much fun!!!!.....it was a memorable birthday i'll never forget...pixiedust:

We have many Disney things around the house (every room except the bathroom...that's where DH draws the line!) Now that we have DVC, it's better because we don't have so long to wait for the next trip. We love to look through our scrapbooks from previous trips and watch our home movies from WDW. It seems like we are almost always planning a trip to WDW so it helps!

We have one of those jars for change that count it every time you add a coin, that is our Disney souviener fund. So the kids get really excited when they find change and sometimes I'll give them quarters for gum and they save it for the fund. We reset it when we get to $100 and deposit it in savings and do a happy dance. Last year we saved almost $600!! Mom and Dad helped of couse.

We watch our Disney videos ever once in awhile, go through albums, etc. Sometimes, just for the heck of it, I wear my mosue ears around the house.

During my last two trips I bought the WDW Soundtrack and Fantasmic Soundtrack, so I can listen to my favourite shows and rides all year long:goodvibes

I also do a lot of visits to the Disney store; just purchased a bunch of Mickey glasses for the kitchen:) We also buy Mickeroni while we're down there, so we can have a Disney-themed meal later on in the year.

Nothing beats Disney Magic.pixiedust:

We get together with our other "disney obsessed" friends have disney nights. A couple weekends ago we got together and had "mickey shaped pizza's" that they sell from the grocery store. We made mickey shaped waffles and made ice cream sundaes with them. We decorated the table with some mickey confetti. We added some stickers from our previous trips for the kids and we applied some tattoos. We watched videos of our previous trips and all watched "wishes" from YouTube. It is great fun and really boosts your magic.

Often when I really miss disney I sit on Youtube late night and watch videos of disney rides and sit on the Dis and reconnect with Disney.

Try and keep things in perspective too. Some people visit Disney once in their lifetime, some never experience it, a year is not long to wait!

I have scrapbooking...that seems to take a long time...I watch the videos every once in awhile and look at pictures...also I talk a little to much about WDW, that is according to my husband...also I am addicted to the DIS boards...like on the previous posts I also am collecting up all coins...toonies, loonies, quarters, and so on...my daughter has her own change collection started for the trip...I'm also starting to plan our next trip...unfortunetly they don't have the 2009 books out yet...boo...so long until we go....

Besides get on here....go more then once a year. :thumbsup2

Since I've been back for WDW I have done manythings to keep the magic alive. I have been to the Disney Store that is located about 25 miles away from where I live. I've since joined the Disney Movie Club and have been watching at least one Disney movie a day. I have bought some books about Disney and have been looking at and reading them. I have been do some Disney websites such as www.disneyparks.com and just try to go through each attraction and try to remember what fun and joy I had at each on. Also go on www.youtube.com and you can find videos of your favoirte rides and other shows and attractions and that has really helped me keep the magic up. I'm not going back until th beginning of 2010 but I'm determined to keep Disney in my heart and as fresh as I can until I go back. Hope some of these ideas can help you. I know how hard it can be to keep a hold of those feelings and memories that you've had an created at that magical place we call Disney.

well..were should i start?
My family are Disney enthusiasts..so..here's what we do for the in between time!!

We buy disney food items, mickey cheese ravioli's, mickey burgers, mickey macaroni, you name it!!

I look up DIsney recipes and make them!! Yu,mmm, not the exact same, but still brings ya back to that moment..

I go to live365.com, and go to music from DIsney parks!!! That always gets us in the mood!!

I go on youtube.com, and look at videos of Disney, redies, ect..

I spend lotsa time on here, plus intercot.com, just like this site, but a tad different.

Scrapbook you pics form the last trip..

Thats about all i can think of ..but try it...

Disney is sooo addictive.

I dvr the disney specials that come on the travel channel and any time I'm missing it I watch again.

I also plan plan plan for our next trip, but this site has been a huge outlet for my obsession. Just joined recently and I've already spent way to much time here, but it's so much fun.:disrocks:
