We are going to WDW for the first time in August. I was wondering how we get to other resorts for dining??

Do we take the bus from our resort (CBR) to one of the parks then get in line for the resort bus that we need??? Or do the buses run from resort to resort??? :confused3

I know this is probably a goofy question but its one I need answered!!
Thanks!

yes, you would go to one of the parks.

If you post the specifics people will be able to give you the best park to go to for they specific resort to want to get to.

Not a goofy question at all. If you have a lot of time then you can take a bus to a park and then board your destination resort bus. Remember you have to do this to get back to CBR as well so it will be a VERY long dinner trip.

My solution is to spend the cash and get a cab to take you. You will shave at least an hour off each leg of the trip and will not dread getting back after dinner.

Simple answer -- No nonstops on Disney Transport, but all kinds of connecting flights.

Connecting at Downtown Disney is usually the worst choice but is the only choice after all the parks close and seems to be the most commonly mentioned in official brochures.

Personally we intend to get to other resorts by using our car. We have ADRs at three and are interested in seeing some others that we may want to stay at next time.

That is what we do. It takes a lot of time to get to a different resort using Disney transportation. For around $20 you can be where you need to be in a flash. If you want to rely on Disney to get you there, you need to plan on it taking at least an hour to make the bus transfers.

I agree with PP's. :thumbsup2 Just wanted to point out that not all transportation is bus transportation. If you are going to one of the MK resorts, you would take a monorail or boat from the MK. To get to the Epcot resorts, you could either walk through Epcot (a bit of a hike from the front!) or take a boat from DHS.
As PP said, if you know specific places, people can tell you your best options.:goodvibes

At Disney, time is money. If a $20 cab shaves 40 minutes off your travel time, that's 40 minutes you have to do something else.

We also do a lot of planning to minimize transportation - if we want to eat a Boma, we do that on an AK day and go to Boma from the park. If we do Ohana's breakfast, we do it the morning we are going to the MK.

We just grab the first major park bus that comes & then transfer. But if you are going to a monorail resort hope for MK bus. that is the easiest switch. Becareful of the Water park busses they make extra stops, like AK or DTD.

This is a great question...I've often wondered this myself.

Don't be afraid to ask!
We had 3 different ADR's at resorts and I just went to the front desk at our resort and said- here's where we need to go, what's the best way and how long will it take? They were helpful.
The hardest was the wait for the boat to Wilderness Lodge seemed to take forever and it was a small boat crammed with people and strollers.
Once I did ask a bus driver too, to make sure we were going the best route and he told us about the TTC which I still don't understand. :sad2:

Good Luck!!
