I saw that they have canceled a few cruises for safety reasons. My question is, how do they keep the crew safe? They can't just evacuate them to florida with no where for them to go, right?

Ships are sailing away from the track with crew on them.

My daughter is crew on board the Fantasy. They've been told to be prepared for several days at sea. They still have to work every day so I'm guessing the ship will be positively sparkling by the next time they dock

I wondered where the additional crew would sleep on the way back to PC. Maybe they advised the CC crew to bring along any sleeping bags they had in the shelter on the island?

Wouldn't they be in guest rooms?

Ships can handle so much more than the typical guest can handle...

Please send positive thoughts to the crew.
A lot are out at sea avoiding a hurricane and now they have friends, family and homes directly impacted by the earthquake, with very limited and expensive internet for communication.

My FB newsfeed is quite a depressing place right now....

 My thoughts and prayers to all affected. My thoughts especially of the many people we've met over the years of cruises that have families on the islands. I wish I knew if they were all right. Seeing St. Martin is hard, very wonderful memories from there. Thank you to the hard working crews that have given all of us so many good memories and made our vacations amazing. You are appreciated!!!

My son just left the Fantasy yesterday to return home, his contract over. He actually would have liked to stay for the week for a cruise without guests but needed to get home to prepare for grad school in a few weeks. Positive vibes for your daughter and the rest of the crew.

I would guess that many of the crew do not have visas to enter the United States, so even if Florida wasn't itself being evacuated, that may not be an option.

They all come in through the United States. They have land-based training at WDW before going to the ship. When they disembark, they do so in PC (for the Dream and Fantasy...and the other ships that port there when they do). So they clearly have to have clearance to enter the US.

Fantasy is now off the coast of Havana - close enough that they can take landscape shots of the skyline. Sis just sent one. :)

Work?!?! I was hoping they could relax and kick back a bit. Hopefully they get a little down time for themselves.

Looking at the ship tracking sites it looks like a 'cruise ship flash mob'. All the ships are headed south and west. Prayers for all the folks still on board. They will be safer than those who are refusing to evacuate.

Scary, if you turn on the wind layers.... you can see the storm moving. Looks like the Bahamas will get hit quite badly.

Ohh Just saw that layers, Thank you ... I have been looking at CC the whole time on NOAA Satellites. Just worried abt Casey, seems he (or she) would be ok in 20 Knots in the shelter.
