How do the tickets work?

We have always purchased park hopper tickets. This time we will not be hopping parks. My questions is... can you leave the park and come back to the same park if you have just your basic ticket? Are we able to go to MK, leave to have lunch at a resort, and then get back into MK?

Yes, the base ticket is good for that park all day, even if you leave and come back.

Base tickets are good for one theme park per day. For example, you can arrive at the Magic Kingdom at 9:00 a.m. on 2/4/08. At 3:00 p.m., you decide to head back to your resort for a break. At 6:00 p.m., you will be allowed to re-enter the Magic Kingdom. Very easy to do.
