How do the husbands feel about everything Disney?

I am another lucky DW who has a DH who loves Disney as much as I do. I'm in charge of the planning, but only because I'm good at it and I like to do it. He is not one who will pay attention to detail. However, he's always very gung-ho when I want to go and I make sure I plan something different every trip. We just became DVC members and are so thrilled!

My husband is completely disney obsessed. He's a bigger fan than I :)

I am the trip planner. He just pays then leaves the rest up to me. He does complain a little and as long as I don't push it more then every other year (we do a tropical beach resort on the off years) then he's fine. Once the trip gets close, he's just as anxious as the rest of us and he always ends up having a great time. Really though, he loves Disney. Out of all the vacations we've done, our 7 night Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise was his fave. I've found that alternating Disney with non Disney works well for us. He has Disneyitis just like me and the kids, he just won't admit it!

Okay....
I have a question......
For those of you whose DH's "tolerate" WDW or say....Okay we can go next year....
What is the actual vacation LIKE ???
Are your DH's miserable during the trip...make you feel guilty if they don't have a good time....or do they really like it once they get there??
I don't know...
Just curious:rolleyes:

While my husband is not a disney fanatic like I am, he enjoys our trips more and more each year. He is actually really looking forward to our December trip so that is great! He did say that after 2005, we need to take a break from Disney so I'm sad about that but understand since we have been so many times over the past few years.

When we do go, I try to do some things that he likes too so the trip is always enjoyable for all. We've always had fun at Disney!

I think we're married to the same woman.

Seriously though, I'm the Disney nut in the family.

Hey its possible...LOL....especially you being in MT. Pleasant I am only a 45 minute drive away down Hwy 402 to Hwy 41 Moncks Corner....I am actually listening to my disney Greatest hits V1 cd right now....I got volumes 1, 2 and 3 today off overstock.com when I ordered the Unofficial 2005 guide to help with our early December trip....

Thank God DH is as much as a Disney freak as I am...if not I'd have to find a new......HUBBY!!!! LOL

While my husband likes Disney World, and is very excited about our upcoming trip, I know he wouldn't want to only go to Disney. There are so many other places in this country that we both would like to see. Now me, well, I could go every year! LOL

Panfan, my husband just spaces out, his eyes glaze over etc. when I try and discuss plans(reservations, priority seatings, itineraries) He just doesn't care. He thinks there's something wrong with me that I am so obsesssed with WDW. When we get to the world he is fine. Not great, though. He brings his laptop, checks emails from work every chance he gets....Blah.

We made the mistake of going in August and the heat made him so uncomfortable he was not a happy camper. I just used that against him and said he owes me another trip!:earsgirl: LOL. We are returning over Thanksgiving!!! I have a Jr high age son, so we won't be returning until summer and I have just decided I am going with or without DH. Last Feb I went with my sister and two DDs. We had the BEST time!!! If he's grumpy, I will definitely go without him in summer. I will need my disney fix by then!:)

Just asked my dh (one who tolerates)...
He said he has a good time once he is there. I agree, he certainly seemed to have a good time when we were there!! I think he secretly likes it but just won't admit it!

Everyone feel free to direct some pity my way. My DH went to a conference once in Orlando and stayed in DTD. While he was there he went to Epcot, once, for a couple hours. He said it was "nothing but shopping". Now he has no desire to go. We are going next month (love the sound of that!) but he is going just to make the rest of the family happy. He has said repeatedly, "Disney's just not my thing". But he has NO IDEA what Disney World is even all about. We are staying at AKL but I am afraid he is going to spend all his time in the room watching TV. He is not a traveller at all, likes to be at home. I am just the opposite, I go where I can when I can. I just go without him. I envy all of you whose hubbies actually enjoy the whole thing.
