How do the DVCs stack-up? (tripadvisor) BWV is #1 DVC

I am bored so I listed all of the Disney Resorts on tripadvisor based on the popularity index- which comes from customer reviews and satisfaction ratings.
To be fair- I am guessing people probably rated Villas at WL as WL, and Beach club resort probably was logged as BCV and vice versa... Also- I don't think they have AKV listed as a hotel on tripadvisor yet, so that one is absent. The rank is its popularity among Disney resorts- the popularity # is their ranking against all the Orlando hotel.

Congarts to Boardwalk Villas for being the #1 DVC resort!

Disney's Vero Beach was #2 most popular out of the 22 Vero area hotels on TripAdvisor.
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort was #1 most popular out of the 35 HHI area hotels on TripAdvisor.

That's good info for the amongst Disney hotel category, but I don't put a lot into it in relation to other Orlando hotels.

It seems as though everytime I turn around (other than the DVC boards) someone is trying to put down the WDW hotels and DVC in some fashion.

I think envy may play a role in that..

Having stayed at BCV, OKW, and Allstar Music, I can't believe that those two DVC resorts were only slightly better than Allstar Music.

The highest rated timeshare/vacation club resort in Orlando on Trip Advisor is Marriott's Horizons Orlando (it's No. 3). Marriott Cypress Harbour is No. 5 for Orlando (a really nice honor considering Cypress Harbour was built around the time Old Key West was). Cypress Harbour's maintenance is excellent and it's a beautiful resort. Every time we've stayed there they constantly were cleaning, painting, etc. Horizons was the same way (even pool public bathrooms were immaculate).

Disney's Wilderness Lodge hotel is No. 15.

They are not saying the resorts are better- for example POP is #4 and Grand Floridian is #5. I don't think anyone could argue that POP is a better resort. It is just that customer satisfaction ratings were higher.

Thanks for posting the results. I think that some may rate it on the value moneywise. Compare Pop Century to a comparable chain hotel and I think you'll find the reviewer will score PC higher.

Yes- Halle- value is one of the specific criteria that is rated- I gave POP a 5 star rating for value- it was the best $77 hotel I ever stayed in. It would be harder to earn a 5 star rating for value if your rack rate averages $350+ per night.

The resorts are ahead of BWV but not the Villas. I suspect people probably mix-up where they post their ratings though- I am sure lots of people who stayed at VWL rated WL Hotel- and Vice versa.

Correct- It should reflect guest satisfaction.

It is interesting to see how the numbers change so swiftly- everytime someone submits a rating for an Orlando hotel the numbers change.

I will post again at a later date to see how the numbers change.

good place to start for reviews & look for patterns as troublesome issues imo
