How do the DVC rooms at the different resorts compare to the Polynesian std. rooms?

I am familiar with the floorplans of the DVC rooms, but I have never actually seen one or stayed in one.

We recently stayed at the Polynesian (renovated room in Fiji building); harbor view.

I know the DVC's have kitchenettes etc. while the regular Disney resorts dont', but do they seem clean/dirty; old/new (in need of renovation)?

Also, has anyone had a major cleanliness complaint when you checked in? Was it taken care of? How responsive was the staff to your complaint? How long did it take?

And do you know if they will renovate rooms every few years? Like new mattresses; new comforters; furniture; etc???

No, seriously, are you comparing the studios to the Polynesian room? Or the one, two or three bedroom villas?

Studios would be similar, one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa (or two queen beds in OKW), plus an undercounter refrigerator (larger than the cube ones in the mods and deluxe resorts), microwave and toaster. Plus free access to washer and dryers instead of $2 to wash and $2 to dry (the first time).

But when you get to the one, two and three bedroom villas, there is no comparison.

Part of our annual maintenance fees goes towards maintenance of the villas, replacing worn out furniture and accessories. They do replacements on a regular schedule. DVC is still Disney, not Howard Johnson or Best Western.

Any room in the Polynesian is far superior to any DVC studio IMO. Much larger, two queens with great mattresses plus a daybed.

One bedrooms in any of the DVC resorts are larger but only sleep four with two of those on a sleeper sofa. The full refrigerator and washer/dryer are fantastic.

We most often split between the Polynesian and BCV. I have noticed no difference in cleanliness. We absolutely LOVE both resorts.

Any problems in the rooms have been addressed quickly at both resorts.
