We just returned on Sunday from a week long vacation at WDW. I was just amazed at how people would stand in a 110 minute wait line for a ride that lasts about 7 minutes when you can easily obtain a Fastpass and return in a few hours without any wait.
I did, however, notice that the people riding Expedition Everest had figured out the FastPass machine. We arrived just after park opening to AK on a Tour Guide Mike "Green Day" for AK and I was at the Expedition Everest FP machine for 9:30am. The return time was already at 2:00pm to 3:00pm.....WOW!
We learned our lesson back in 2004 for our first visit since the FP machines were in place. We saw a 30 minute wait for the Pooh ride and proceeding to get in the stand-by line. About 1.5 hours later, we were finally on the 3 minute ride. We watched as Fastpasser after Fastpasser just zoomed by while we waited and waited. After that....I figured out how to use Fastpass.
Another experience was last year on Soarin. I had a FP and we returned for our time. The attraction was relatively new and the lines were long. When I walked up to the front in the FP line, a gentleman asked me how the weather was outside. I told him it was raining. He proceeded to tell me that he had been in line over 2 hours! I'm thinking....WHY??!!! I would get a FP and then at least go play with all the displays in Innoventions for 2 hours instead of standing in line for a 10 minute ride....geez....
None of this bothers me though....I know how to use the system and it makes our vacations so much more fun.
I do, however, have a new pet peeve. It didn't really cause me any stress on our vacation....but, I thought I would mention it. My new pet peeve is people who have the dining plan and don't know how to use it. Some people think they have to individually order for each person in their group using each key assigned to that person. They don't realize that all the credits are "pooled" together on one room....so, you have to wait there for 5 individual people to make 5 seperate orders while the mom is trying to give everyone their key, etc....
Then, you have the people that don't realize that a dessert is included on counter service meals. The cashier instructs them that they can pick out a dessert....then, they ask....what desserts do you offer?....then, they have to ask each individual person in the party which dessert they want.
Ughh!!!!!
Oh well....can't complain. We had no problems on our trip.....
