How do opening hour changes affect AM dining/FP+?

If they bump opening hours for MK an hour earlier, will they add an extra hour of ADR's? We have an 8:05 at BOG on a 9am opening day, hoping to get on 7DMT at opening on our day 1. Since FP's were gone I was relying on that. Looking at historical hours on TP it looks unlikely, but if they change to an 8am opening, will they add ADR's for 7am-8am as well?

Also, if they do add an hour, when do they usually add the FP's for that hour?

No earlier ADRs. FPs will be added for the extra hour of opening. Usually takes a few days, so you have to keep checking.

well that sucks. :-( DO they post those new ones at 4am also? Am I going to have to wake up at 3:30 every day for a week until they add them? lol

No, there is little pattern to when they are added. And they don’t do all rides at once. You have to be on your toes when hours change and devote some time to searching periodically.

Ugh. They seriously do this stuff just to make us crazy, don't they? Why not wait until hours are final and then release dining and FP? Why on earth do we need to have a dinner booked 6 months ahead?

I’m currently in the middle of this lol. They extended hours for my dates on Friday. I keep checking and checking for 7DMT and FoP. They finally added 7DMT yesterday for the extended hours. I checked before bed and they weren’t there, checked again as soon as I woke up and there they were. I lost my PPO ADR at BOG advantage but gained an 8am FP+ for 7DMT (we cancelled BOG). I’m STILL waiting for FoP to be added.

Yes, it stinks and it’s one of the reasons people make multiple ADR’s for the same restaurant. People make the pre-park opening one and then a back up one for a different time if the restaurant itself is a must do and they would rather spend that first hour touring.

I just went through the same thing as well. I had to cancel BOG and was able to secure Mine Train FP when I randomly checked one morning to see if they added FP. I suppose the one perk to them adding on the park hours later means that if you didn't secure a FP for a coveted ride the first go around, it gives you another chance to do so. :) Good luck!

We have a PPO BOG on July 5th for which I have no hope will survive. The scheduled opening time of MK is 9 am as of today, but it is very likely that it will move to 8 am as it's a really busy week at WDW. It will be a bummer to cancel the PPO again (same thing in October), but no need to eat a bad breakfast during the "golden hour". My wife and I got lucky in December as there was no change to the 9 am opening and we rode 7DMT and PP in the first few minutes of the morning. The head start on the rest of the crowd put us at an advantage all day! We had the same luck in October of 2015 (not long after it opened) and rode 7DMT 3 times in one day (2 PPO and 1 FP+). Fingers crossed that Disney doesn't mess with our times. We will attempt to book a FP+ at 9 am for 7DMT so we are safe either way.

We think the breakfast at BOG is poor, but the advantage is worth the price.

I wouldn’t be too sure about 7/5 opening times changing. 7/5 was a 9am opening last year. I dont think that week is as crazy crowded as people think (I was there last year, it didn’t feel like 8am opening crowd levels to me).

Looking back at the calendar, the only days that week that had anything other than 9am regular openings were 7/3 and 7/4.

Of course anything can happen! :-)

Our experience with this was when they changed Animal Kingdom regular open from 9am to 8am, and evening hours were also extended. The Flight of Passage FPs didn't appear until about 5 days later. And they were released in mid-morning.

I was able to get six 8-9am FPs for Flight of Passage a couple of hours after release, and there were still some available by evening time on the day of release.

So no, you shouldn't have to wake up before 4am every day, BUT you should be sure to check sometime every day.
