How do most of you pay your cell phone bill?

I pay with my credit card, but not autopay since I sometimes switch depending on what card needs points. I just dial *729 on At&t and either choose "pay with previous credit card" or type in a new one.

We use Tracfones. Husband just bought new ones on QVC - less than $80 each with 1400 minutes and triple minutes for life. This is good for one year of service. Added it to what I had on my other Tracfone - now have over 4300 minutes and service for 682 days!

Wife has a Trac(which works very well for her), and my employer pays for my work cell.

I do auto pay; however, I review my bill weeks before the payment is deducted for any extra charges..

I buy Page Plus refill codes online because I can get them at a discount.

I would recommend against autopay because you are relying on someone correctly entering your payment. If it is wrong it could be quite some time before it is adjusted. I would recommend looking into any points/rewards credit cards that you may have. Some of them have double points for cell phone charges, US bank being one of them.

My husband works for a telecommunications company. They make us do auto pay with our cell phone (however, the savings we get totally make it worth it!).

My auto pay is with Sprint. If they get the wrong payment, it is what they themselves deducted.

I have it automatically charged to my credit card. With the credit card I earn Air Miles which I use to redeem for flights to Florida or WDW passes. Works for me!

Thanks to this thread, I just moved mine to auto-pay from my best rewards CC. It was autopaying from my bank, but I might as well get rewards for it!!

We use auto pay to our Southwest Airlines card. I still get a paper bill in the mail and plenty of time to dispute if I need to, which I recently did. Also it's easy to go online and disable it, even just for the next payment, and will then resume for subsequent payments. I agree with pp who said don't just set it and forget it. The convenience is that I still pay when I choose but it's to my SW visa, not ATT.

Another thing I pay on the Disney card is our auto insurance... if you can pay by card on something like that, it'll add up quick also. The only thing we don't put on our card is electric/ gas/ water. Those charge a fee, so I'm not willing to do that. But everything else...internet / cell phone/ car insurance/ groceries / gas...all goes on the card and then I put the cash for each in an envelope to pay Chase as we go. It's terrific!! :thumbsup2

I have VM but no iPhone. I do not autopay. I use an ancient LG Optimus V because it is grandfathered into the $25 a month plan. After 3 years, I've not even changed the battery in it. When the phone is dead, I'll upgrade, but it doesn't seem to want to die anytime soon.

I do auto pay with Virgin. They send a text for each payment stating that the amount has been successfully deducted. So far no wrong amounts.

However that said, I've been missing the boat by not doing the target refills.

I have AT&T and I always do auto-pay from my credit card. I get the bill in enough time to really check it over but I never had a problem with them charging the incorrect amount. I recently switched the auto-payment over to my Wells Fargo M/C since they were offering up to $600 in theft and damage insurance for the primary phone plus three secondary phones on the same account as long as the bill is paid using the Wells M/C. I've never felt paying for cell phone insurance was worth it for us, but I'll take the free coverage.

We pay with automatic payment on our CC. We get an email a few days before the payment will be taken and then a second on when the payment is actually taken.

We have Verizon. She has an iPhone and I have a Galaxy S4. We both have a data plan.

I'm not sure how many people know but most mobile providers give discounts, as high as 22% depending on your occupation. I am a municipal worker and got 15%. I think doctors and nurses can get 22% off their bill.

And I pay manually online and use a credit card for points.

Another question about auto pay, do you choose the date you want it to be paid, or do they? Also how do the Vrigin Mobile refill cards work? Thanks again!!!! :)

Verizon let me choose a date, but I had to choose a date that was close to the date I started my service.

I also do auto pay. Use my Southwest CC to pay our bill. I get an email alert when my bill is ready to view. I get it in enough time to review for any discrepancies, and can call and get it corrected before the payment comes out. I also have the ability to suspend auto pay for the month and pay manually if I choose. Auto pay will resume the next month.

I also have the ability to suspend auto pay altogether and just pay when I need to.
