I don't know how I want to do this. Someone help me figure out the most cost effective way of planning this trip please??

The "cast" is myself, my mother (first trip) and my 2 DS (8 and 5). I know that we plan to have 2 rooms at ASMovies. We will arrive May 28 and depart June 4. I don't plan to do the parks on arrival day but we do want to do the Hoop de Doo that night. We will take 1 day out for a Downtown Disney and we do plan to use a waterpark (maybe plan on these for the same day). My mom and I are NOT big eaters and my kids fluctuate their eating habits.

Can I justify an AP for myself in order for discounts?? How many days on a MYP for everyone else? Should we get all MYP's with dining?? So many choices!!! Now I can't decide!!!

You'd have to call and find out what the AP discount is on the rooms to decide if the discount is worth it. The cost of a 7 day base ticket is only $4 and change more than the 6 day ticket. If you are not big eaters, I don't think the dinning option would work for you. You and your mom could split a meal as well as the boys could do the same.
Don't know if that helps you. There is a lot of info. Just read all you can find. Good Luck

I'm certainly not an expert, but I've done a lot of pricing. I'm thinking that you are better off not to do a package because you won't be in the parks each day. So, you'd be paying for admission days you wouldn't be using. Also, because you are not big eaters, maybe the dining plan would be too much. As far as AP's, from what I've read, it may not be as cost effective with a value resort as it would if you were doing a deluxe. I can't remember if there are still AP rates available for that time or what. www.mouseavers.com has a great calculator to see what you would save with traditional AP discounts.

If I were you, I'd just go to wdw reservations and price out both options.

Good luck!
