How do I use "old" tickets with the new system?

:confused3 My friend is going to Disney in March and still has days left on her passes from a few years ago. How does this work with the new "base ticket" deal? Will she still get the Park Hopping, or does she have to pay extra?

Very curious....

It would depend if the old ticket had park hopping or not. She gets the same benefits the ticket previously had.

If she had a park hopper pass, it will work the same as it did back then. We used an old 4 day park hopper last spring and it worked just fine - plus we enjoyed all the benefits that you now pay extra for on the Magic Your Way passes.
I think "Magic Your Way" is short for "Pay Extra for the Perks". ;)

I think that all pre-2005 tickets are park hoppers (the exception being the 1-day/1-park passes or 2-day/2-park passes).

If your friend has a PHP (park hopper plus), her pluses are good at PI and the waterparks. Her pluses cannot be used at DQ.

For admission to the parks, she should just insert the ticket before passing thru the turnstiles just like she did before and then she will need to do the fingerscan like anyone with a MYW pass would. She does not need to trade the old pass in for a new MYW pass.

Keep in mind that the old tickets now require a finger scan. Once that person uses the ticket they "own" that ticket. No one else will be able to use it.
