Help! We are going in November. I have a total of 14 people. I'm worried I may not be able to get seating for that many people on Tues when my ADR booking window opens. How do I split my group into 2 groups for ADR's? I was thinking a group of 8 and a group of 6. The thing is, we are all on MY MDE account. I was told to have DH create his own MDE account and book his reservation separately. How does this work? If he creates his own account, what does this mean as far as linking everything? I'm so confused!

Thanks!

Found my answer somewhere else...here is how in case any one else runs into this problem:

You do NOT need 2 MDE accounts to have duplicate times/ADRS. You can do it all within your single MDE account. No need to call either. Make sure you are logged in to your MDE account on the desktop site and NOT the mobile site!

When making the first ADR for your party, you must choose an adult also in your MDE (your spouse, etc) as the lead guest on the ADR - DO NOT choose yourself or it won't work. You do not need to assign the remaining party to the ADR, (Unless it's a dinner show with reserved seating).

Then go back in, and make a 2nd ADR, choose another adult, and so forth. If you only need 2 ADRs you can choose yourself as the 2nd adult/owner of the ADR.

If you are not on the desktop site, you will not be given the option to choose who to manage the reservation! If you choose yourself first, it will tell you that you have already booked an ADR.

You cannot change the lead adult on an ADR once you make it, so you must start this process by choosing anyone in your MDE except you.

You're welcome! I spent 45 mins on the phone with the MDE app tech support and they didn't even know how to do this. They told me I would have to open a second, separate MDE account under my husband's name and then call them back to merge his name under my account into his new account. I did a google search and went from there...ultimately had to figure it out myself via trial and error. I tried this method and it worked!

Does anyone know if you can successfully use the same credit card for both ADRs - the one assigned to you and the one you assign to another relative. In my case it would be my wife. I am wondering how much you need to isolate 1 ADR from the other so you won't be told that you already have a reservation. Thanks

I just tested it out and successfully booked two reservations using the credit card I have on file - the first one choosing my DH as the manager of the reservation, and the second res with me managing the reservation.

You can always test it out by booking the reservation and then just going back in and canceling on your MDE account...just don't forget to cancel!

Thanks very much for the reply, OhanaMomma. Out of curiosity did you consider using two computers to get the split reservation? Maybe I am getting crazy, but I went online this morning for a trial run and Cinderella Royal Table had no availability at the start 7am. Even if I split my party into 5 & 5 I wonder if I would be too slow getting the second 5.

Perhaps people using their 180 + reservation period had filled most of the slots even before today? I long for the days 37 years ago when I could plan with a more reasonable chance of success. Now I am trying to introduce my grandchildren to Disneyworld and I feel like I am running in the Kentucky Derby trying to get reservations for everything.

I know CRT is REALLY tough to get at 180 +10 as it is. That being said, DH and I usually both wake up early and set up the lap tops and iPads to help increase our chances. I would definitely try that if I were you!

Also- I would try setting up alerts in Touring Plans Reservation finder or Mouse Dining to try getting an alert if anything opens up!

Today was our 180 day mark - cannot tell you how helpful this was for us as we had more than one dining time we were splitting up our party - thank you!!

I successfully used the info here to make 4 of our 13 dinner reservations at 180 dyas. Not all on the days we wanted but basically got most of what we needed. Much thanks to everyone here on these boards.I had 4 of using laptops at exactly 6am. Disney World needs more restaurants! This is definitely not a magical experience any longer! It gets crazier every year. I like it better back in 1976 when I made my first trip.

Glad it helped!
