How do I rent points for a BW Grand Villa?

Hello, does anyone know how I would go about renting points for a grand villa at the Boardwalk or Beach Club? We are traveling with my DH, myself, DD4, DS22 & his GF.

There are no grand villas at BCV, and very few at BWV. You may already be too late to get one; BWV owners were able to start booking them in February 2008 for January 2009 stays.

But, it never hurts to ask. Post your request on the rent/trade board and see what happens.

Grand Villas are the 3BR units. They are rare. There are a handful at BWV, and none at BCV. For January 2009, there are almost certainlly booked.

If you could get by with a 2BR unit, there may be some left to rent. They have a king bed in one br, a queen + pullout couch in the other, and a pullout in the living room (there are a handful of 2BR's at BCV with 2 beds in the second br, but those are almost certainlly gone). Would that work for you?

a gv is so much more expensive than a 2-bedroom - even renting points it will be expensive.

BWV is 74 points a night sun-thurs, 94 for fri/sat

SSR is 67 points sun-thurs, 85 for fri/sat

OKW is 36 sun-thurs, 88 for fri/sat

AKV is 69 sun-thurs, 87 fri/sat

so for BWV staying a week 558 * $12 is around $6,700 for the week stay. would use the money to buy points..

Yes, a BWV Grand Villa will run you maybe $1000 a night. That's if you can find one from a DVC owner to rent. If Disney has one available for rent for cash, the regular price is $1485 per night plus tax in January, which is the off-season. (The price is $2155 plus tax a night during holidays.) As Spiceycat said, if I had that sort of money lying around, I would buy more DVC points, rather than renting for just a week. If you do want to rent one, though, I'd check www.mousesavers.com for possible discounts, as well as post on the rent/trade board.

I'd think a two-bedroom would work well for your group. They cost far less, plus are much easier to get. Technically, you are eligible to stay in a dedicated Boardwalk studio, as they sleep four adults plus a child, but that would certainly be crowded.

As you can tell, it's been a long time since we have done a Disney World vacation experience. We typically do a few vacations in the carribean and Mexico each year, but with our youngest 4 now, we feel she is ready to ecperience the "magic"!

We are hoping to stay on property (although I did recieve a few e-mails about some wonderful looking 5+ bedroom homes, but we feel we would miss some of the special disney feel). It looks like we may just end up getting two concierge rooms at the GF for this winter... although we would really like to have the "family suite" feel of a villa. I know that they are not vacation club properties, but does anyone have an opinion of the GF vs. the Poly for concierge/ club rooms.

Any and all views/ opinions are greatly welcomed!

How is that going to improve your chance? None of us can make a reservation more than 11 months ahead, so everything is going to be the same no matter which year you are talking about. It's a matter of supply and demand. There is little supply at BWV.

I really don't think you need a GV though. I would opt for a 2 bedroom at either OKW or AKV. There will be space to sleep 8 in the 2 bedroom at OKW and 9 at AKV, so you will have room to spare, and a full kitchen, Jacuzzi, laundry room and all right there as well as 2 bathrooms.

I think that you may be confusing a Grand Villa with a 2 bedroom villa. There are only 7 GVs at the BWV - we are in one the week before Christmas - and I would say that you have no chance in getting one of those. But, do you really need something that big? The GV is six normal hotel rooms wide - 2300 square feet - and they hold up to twelve people. In a two-bedroom villa you and DH could take the room with the king bed, then you have a queen bed and two sofa beds that pull out to queen beds to work with for the other three people. Plus a full kitchen and a small living room area.

I've done, it was super easy. Simply post a "reservation wanted" message on the rent & trade board 12 months out (mid-December in your case).

There are quite a few BWV owners with huge amounts of points for sale. Many of them sit back and wait for transactions which allow them to move a huge number of points at one time. You can bet someone will be more than happy to make you a day-by-day reservation at exactly 11 months.

Hello, we would really prefer to have 3 seperate bedrooms. One for myself and DH, one for DS and his girlfriend and another for our DD. That way we do not have to tip-toe around, as our DD goes to bed at 7. We are considering bringing our au pair and then she would share a room with our DD, and I know she would apreciate not having to sleep on a couch (pull out or otherwise).

I guess it looks like the villas may not be for us at this time... after looking into it, we really prefer the convenience of concierge service, turn down service, etc.

I'll have to see if there are any connecting suites on site at any of the other hotels that would be the equivilent of 3 bedrooms with a seperate living/ entertaining area. We don't really need a kitchenette, although I'm sure it would come in handy. I guess it's just all of the options that are throwing me through a loop.
