How do I make a DVD?

Someone has given me a DVD made from their digital camera, of a dance I did. I would like to make some copies of it but don't know how. I have made CD's of music, but I can't figure out how to make the DVDs. I need simple basic instructions please. anyone?

If your computer has a DVD burner, it probably came with software that would duplicate a DVD that was made without copy protection (as is almost surely the case with the DVD of your dance). Which software came with your DVD burner? (Some choices are Nero, Sonic, Roxio, Cheetah, etc.) Once we know what software you have, we can help you understand how to easily use it to do what you want.

I think it is roxio. At least that 's what I believe I used when I burned cd's. I'm thinking I have to put it on my computer and then burn it onto a cd, but I have only basic knowledge about computers, so you are dealing with a novice here.

If you have a newer computer and can make a cd you can make a dvd. the commands are the same. The key is that you have a cd/dvd burner and not only a cd burner. The new computers pretty much come with the ability to do both.

Give it a try. At worse you ruin a dvd (not the one you are copying from).

I have Roxio
its very simple, you open the program, go to start/all programs and look for Roxio, then click on creator basic (thats what i have) once you open it its very self explanitory (sp?)
you just click on COPY DISC.......it will tell you to insert the disc, you insert the disc with your dance on it, then you'll have to click on BURN....it will copy it, when its done it will prompt you to put in a blank dvd....when you do that you will click on continue or ok, something like that....and it will burn the copy on the blank dvd and thats it, it will prompt you when its done.
should take no more then 10 mins.
