i joined emerald club. i log into national car rental using my emerald club info. a contract code is prefilled as well as the car type, intermediate. does this mean i have a reservation using the emerald aisle? thanks. jade

If Emerald Aisle Service is confirmed, then "AISLE" is appended to the end of your confirmation number.

thanks for your reply. i have no "aisle" appended to my confirmation. i am signed into my emerald club membership.

the prefilled contract code is 5007125. an intermediate car was pre-selected as well. the price i got for 1 week may 8-15 is $219.63

how do i make the reservation with the "aisle" appended to the confirmation?:confused3

thanks in advance. jade

If you signed in using your emaerald aisle number, it should have confirmed the service for you. You cna call 800-227-7368 and give them your confirmation number. They can verify that EA service has been confirmed. Especially at Orlando, it can save a lot of time.
Good Luck!

When you got your email notification it should have given your confirmation number and it will say "your level of service is aisle". That means you have EA. If you logged into EA before you made your ressie it would automatically put you on the aisle.

Ahhh. I joined Emerald Club not emerald aisle. Does anyone know where I can join Emerald Aisle. The only thing i see on the National site is Emerald Club. My credit card is also prefilled when i enter my emerald club number. Does anyone know if they place a hold on the amount of the rental.

here is part of the email i received from them after joining.

Thank you for choosing National Car Rental® and enrolling in Emerald Club®. Your Emerald Club number is **********

sorry if i'm being dense. gotta get some coffee. jade

Same thing. Can you copy and paste your ressie here? Star out all your actual info. You may be aisle but don't see it. It should look like this:

Dear Richard,

Thank you for using Nationalcar.com to make your reservation.
Your confirmation number is: XXXXXXXX
Your level of service is Emerald Aisle. Please proceed directly to the Emerald Aisle to choose your vehicle.

If you need to make a change to this reservation, please use your reservation number as a reference

thanks richard. i see the emerald aisle now. do you know since my credit card is attached to this reservation if national has charged my account?

You will not be charged until you drop the car back off at MCO. To clarify, Emerald Aisle is where you go to choose you car when you are at the airport. The pillars in the garage will be labeled as such (versus intermediate, compact, etc). Emerald Club is that actual name of the club. Simply proceed to the Emerald Aisle, choose ANY car on that aisle and drive to the check out. Present your confirmation and any coupons and off you go.

Now, you can change the contract ID and use a coupon too with Emerald Club. The contract ID you used doesn't necessarily give you best prices. If you have an Entertainment Book, you will most likely get a better price and you can still use EA. Also, I mentioned ANY car on the EA, if there is a mini-van or SUV on the EA you get to take that at the price you paid for intermediate.... the nice thing about using Emerald Aisle is the chance for a free upgrade.

Ask if you have more questions. I love EA!

also, you need to edit your post above to take out the confirmation number, your email, and your Emerald Club number.. someone could log in to your ressie and cancel it for you.......

thanks duds. i thought the contract id was affiliated with ea and i couldn't change it. so as long as i am logged in using my emerald club information and reserve an intermediate car i should receive EA on my confirmation. I get it now thanks everyone for their help.

Check http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html#codes for all kinds of codes people can use. I use my entertainment book code and a coupon from it. The highest I have ever paid at MCO is around $160 for the week using EA. I have a week ressie at LAX for $184, but hope to take it lower.

Another thing to remember is that car rental agencies don't charge a cancel fee, so, if you check back and find a cheaper rate, make that ressie and then cancel the old one. I must have done that 15 times for my last trip. If you are diligent, you can really save some money on a car rental.

Have a great trip!

Also look for the coupons and Rate Codes listed on Mousesavers. At National you can stack coupons with Contract IDs and Rate Codes. It takes a little time, but if you try different combinations of those three things you might come out with a better deal. For example, I tried it with no contract ID first (sometimes it will inexplicably come out cheaper than if you use one!), then I tried it with the Emerald Club rate code, then I tried it with my AAA rate code. The AAA code gave me the best base rate. From there I added a coupon that you can find right from the front page of National's own website and saved another $25. I ended up saving $50 off the price I was given by using that default Emerald Club code.

i also got a better rate using AAA contract ID 6100253 rather than the default emerald club and I used coupon ND1982FMQ for another $40 off.

What coupon code is that for? Is it a coupon from the Entertainment book?

Are there usually a good selection of cars at MCO on EA? I will be arriving in the afternoon the day after Easter. Wondering if there will be a small selection since this is a busy travel time.

Thanks. I was just looking around over there, and what concerns me is that as far as I can tell, there are no links to actual coupons with UPCs that can be printed out. When I entered that coupon code you have into my ressie it said that a paper coupon would be required at checkout if I were to use that code. If I don't have a printed coupon I don't want to risk using that code. So I'll stick with the ones on the National site for now.

Can anyone direct me to where the flyertalk coupon is on their website? That gives me the best rate yet for my April/May trp. Thanks.

It's on the last page of the National thread (Forums/Miles&Points/Car Rental Programs/Partners/National/Any discount Contract IDs that ACTUALLY really work WELL? (sticky) )

EDIT: I take that back, I don't actually see that particular coupon code listed. Maybe the OP can help us out here. I'd love to use it but not if I can't find the actual coupon to print.

EDIT AGAIN: Found it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=654249 They say no paper coupon is needed...I think I'll take my chances.
