I am going to make the delicious Salted CAramel Cupcakes that I found on this website for an Election Bake Sale at our school on Tuesday morning. All items need to be individually wrapped. How the heck do I do this with cupcakes? (w/o the icing getting all stuck and gloppy--it needs to look pretty).. I don't have time to order anything online. Does anyone have any suggestions for individually wrapping cupcakes??
Thanks so much!

Put toothpicks in the cupcake and wrap with cellophane or plastic wrap. The toothpicks will keep the wrap off the frosting.

I don't know how you can nicely wrap them but I made those 2 weeks ago for DD16's Sweet 16 birthday. Well they were good for that cause they are SWEEEEETTT!!! Really good but oh my gosh, I ate it a bite at a time, I literaly couldn't eat more then one bite. It was great though, a little went a long way to satisfy the sweet tooth!

When I went to a cup cake store, they put the cupcakes in a plastic container (looks like a small/but tall enough to-go box and it was clear so you could see the cupcake inside). Maybe you have a bakery or a restaurant near you that has them and can sell you some???

Not sure if its budet themed, but Dunkin Donuts uses plastic drinking cups with a cover. Place the cupcake on the cover and place cup over the cover.

but my mom would always cut them in half and put the bottom on the top so the frosting was in the middle.

I would buy those clear plastic cups (6 oz I think) that are often used for punch or in the 'bar' at parties. Like these: http://www.mypapershop.com/183000.html Then I would put Saran Wrap over the top.

I like this idea. I would worry with the toothpicks, that the cupcakes were handed to kids by people who didn't look close enough to see that the toothpicks were in there and need to be removed.

I sent cupcakes for the class today to school- Wal Mart had packages for Halloween that were the cupcake liners with matching toothpicks that had little paper signs attached- they said "beware " etc - then I bought the little clear cellophane treat bags with designs on them -they sell them in dollar stores for every occassion- mine were 25 in the package for a dollar- I rolled down the little cellophane bags used tongs and dropped the cupcake in each bag- the toothpick with the little sign prevented the cellophane from sticking to the icing then I used twist tie to tie up each baggie. I was only looking for halloween at the time but I think they had other cupcake sets at Wal Mart that came with the toothpick for each one. Maybe those little cocktail forks you can buy would work too-a plain toothpick might not be seen by a child but you can buy them with the little coloured tops even at the grocery store-could put them in plain non zip type baggies too.

I just bought cupcakes at the bake sale table at my kid's school carnival and someone had used those plastic cups listed earlier like you would use for punch. They put an oreo on the bottom put in the cupcake and then put them in those cello bags and tied them off with curling ribbon. They were super cute and the kids loved the bonus cookie.

As a big time baker, I agree this is what I would use. First I would freeze the cup cake so that the frosting sets solid. Then place the cupcake into the cup. I would then use a cello bag that you can get at the craft store or online. I would look for a gusseted bag. Place the cup with the cake into the bag fold neatly amdeither staple, or use a attractive sticker. I am not a fan of staples with food items, so I would use the sticker.
