Hi there

What is the popular and most effective way to request a building/section/room these days. Years ago when I stayed onsite, I would fax the rooms controller. Is that still the way you do it?

I am staying at Coronado and would like to request the Casitas section and war curious how I should go about that now?

Thanks for any info! :)

Just call reservations and have your requests added to your reservation. Most resorts are ignoring faxes these days.

That is an inaccurate statement.

Lilystar, you should let CRO know at the time you are placing your reservation, but you can also send a fax about 5 days ahead of time. I have many friends who go to Disney A LOT and they only do faxes, which are still honored. Various resorts throughout the year as well. I went in June and only used a fax and every single one of my 4 requests were met. One was for medical reasons, the rest were simply requests.

On the topic of requests....is there anyone with a mam of POP and the fax number?

I'd like to know that also!

If I booked my trip through a TA, can I still contact them directly?

I just got back from ASMo and the CRO put bldg preferences and non smoking on my ressie. The CRO recommended putting the Dalmations and Toy Story bldgs as requests. When I got there to check in the CM said she had a room for me on the first floor of Mighty Ducks. I very nicely asked her if there might be a 3rd floor non smoking room in Dalmations, or if not a 3rd floor non smoking room in any bldg. She made a phone call and gave me exactly what I wanted, and BONUS it was ready right away.

DisneyTrippin and others it has been reported here many times that most of the resorts are ignoring the faxes nowadays. They simply got too many of them. If you have your requests in your reservation that is all you need to do. No need to fax. All they did with a fax is match it up to your reservation. Keep your requests simple. Don't give detailed requests like a specific room or you may not get it. If you say a certain area that gives them some leeway.

If you booked through a travel agent, the agent will have to call WDW and have the requests noted in your reservation.
