How do I get to Winter/Summerland when BB is under refurb?

Hi All,

I hope this hasn't been asked too many times (I tried to search for it), but I am wondering, do they still run buses to BB even when it's under refurbishment so people can get to Winter/Summerland? Or, how do I get to Winter/Summerland in late January when BB is closed?

I'm assuming the AK bus will stop there, but check when you get to WDW. I don't know if I've ever heard an answer to this question.

We did this a few years ago from our resort. We were told to take an Epcot bus, but that driver said to take the Studios bus. The Studios driver said we should have taken the Epcot bus but he took us to W/S anyway. It was a bit complicated but we made it.

To leave, we wanted to go to DTD. We took a bus to Studios, then a boat to the resorts and wound up taking a Taxi. It took forever.

My suggestion - take a taxi. It will be much less time and stress.

Wow--it sounds like kind of a pain to get there when BB is closed. We may just walk to Fantasia Gardens since we are staying at the Boardwalk.

It is not the easiest place to get if there are no BB buses and you don't have a car.

I've heard some things about walking from Coronado Springs. I'm not sure I would do that, and probably not at night for sure.

This is one of the very few exceptions to the hard rule of not walking along a Disney highway. There actually is a crosswalk and sidewalk meant for just this purpose. It's clearly visible in the sat view if you want to look it over

That's what we do!! Just plain lazy!!

First of all, Epcot is the correct answer. The bus from Epcot to CS continues on to BB, even when BB is closed. In the a.m., you may have to ask the driver to stop there. Buses return from BB to Epcot until 11 p.m., and often a bus picking up guests at BB after Epcot has closed will just take them directly to their resort.

But BW is a problem, since there's no transportation from the Epcot resorts to the Epcot bus area. If Epcot's open and you have admission for that day, you can just walk thru the park to the bus area. Coming back after the park's closed, I'm sure the bus dispatcher would get you back to BW somehow.

Second, yes, there is a sidewalk all the way from CS front lobby to Winter-Summerland, and it continues on to AS Sports and the other AS Resorts. It runs right alongside Buena Vista Drive, so it's lighted by the streetlights and should be perfectly fine even at night. There are pedestrian signals at all crosswalks. It's just about a mile to W-S from either CS or Sports. From CS, you get to it by first following the crosswalks across the check-in parking lot, and then straight out to the perimeter road.

And third, FG is an easy walk from BW, and yes, it would be a lot easier to get to.

Thanks for your help, everyone! I think I will stick to Fantasia Gardens since it's a fairly easy walk from the Boardwalk. But I am glad to know about the sidewalk from CS--I did not know that was an option.
