:confused3 O.k so we have changed our plans again....no driving from DFW to WDW! We have decided to spend the full three weeks in WDW;). Hey its the reason we are going to the USA so we might as well enjoy 3wks of pixi dustpixiedust:. So I am kicking myself now, Qantas has reduced flights by $100 per ticket to DFW today. With five of us thats a fair amount . I am also kicking myself as I should of booked direct flights to orlando as I am finding the internal flights with AA quite expensive. Plus you have to pay for your bags. What have I done:worship:. My question is does anyone know if its best for me to book them now, we are going at the end of October and returning mid November. I really want to fly AA fro DFW as they seem to be the only airline that has direct flights to MCO....oh the pain! I really am cranky with myself:badpc:

I have nothing other than keep checking or seeing if you can get a 'ding' by signing up to them (and possibly SouthWest Airline). Just stopped in to give you one of these.

I would also keep your international boarding passes (and your tix for outbound international journey) and show them when you check in. If you are flying AA, they should/might waive the baggage fee. They did for me in 2010 when DH and I flew United and had an AA flight for an internal leg. Policy might have changed; but it is worth a try.

Thanks PrincessInOz....i am checking their site daily atm! But at just over $2000 return for the five of us I am holding out a little longer..

It might be worth ringing Qantas and finding out what it would cost you to change your flights and pay the $200 per person change fee and book your flights direct so you get the luggage otherwise the luggage $ add up really quick.
You would also have the option of turning your tickets into vouchers and rebooking will still have the $200 change fee but you would be able to get the cheaper flight when you rebook. But don't do anything without checking the price with them first. The lovely lady I had when I did mine waved the $80 phone fee because I had problems doing it online.

Thanks WAMUMOF4.... I have think I will give them a call tomorrow and see what I can work out! I booked it online though so I don't know if I can change it over the phone...grrrr I am so stupid. And now I just read Karens $850 return flights SYD-LAX....well just kill me now lol! I am happy for you though Karen.

Your not stupid and I had booked ours online and changed them on the phone play around online and you will have a guesstimate of what it will cost minus the change fees. I know that South west doesn't fly out of DFW but it may be worth looking at them and catching a taxi over there or getting picked up I just guesstimated your dates and there were flights or $114 each way and luggage is included.

We would all love Karen's price.

Try the options mentioned by others.

Also keep an eye on very very early morning or very very late night AA flights for usually the cheapest fares. Almost guaranteed these will be cheapest but you need to live with the lousy times for moving kids around on planes.....:worried:

i would take you all with me for the $850 if I could, but baggage limits and my shopping...you know how it is.

re AA, they are a code share with qantas, contact qantas and ask if you buy your AA flights can they join the resi's togeather, then you will get baggage allowance right thru, as long as it is connecting flights (within reason)....or twitter qantas/AA....

once again, so sorry:wave2:
