How do I get over the emotions!!!??

I would be lying if I said I do not cry!!!! During our first trip, I cried as we drove through the main gate of the DisneyWorld property, and I dare anyone to make fun of me!!! I am proud to be such a fan!!!

Me too, I am at work reading these postings, and the tears are welling up.

It is so exciting and I can't contain myself. I see the Welcome sign, the Castle, Mickey, they all bring tears.

This is the best therapy group going although they don't really help they more enable the emotion.

(I cry when I hear our National Anthem, for pete's sake!!)

I sometimes get emotional during our national anthem. No shame there. I actually have it as my ringtone for my home phone.

Count me in too. I tear up when I first see the Welcome arch and the Castle. There are certain shows that do it too . . . Wishes, Illuminations, Lion King, etc. On the last trip my best friend who is as nutty as all of us here was with me. She always cries at Wishes too. We went for the first time to see One Man's Dream and when we came out of the darkened theater into the light I looked at her and she looked at me (we both suspected the other one was crying too!). The kids think we're crazy but at least I have it down so that I can get choked up and teary-eyed without actually balling (although I still do that on the last day). What can we say? We love Disney and it's so nice to know so many people "get it" that is why I love this board. :wizard:

OMG my family would just about fall over if I DIDN'T start bawling!!!

We always drive down and come in thru 535 by DTD. As soon as I get to Hotel Plaza Blvd. the waterworks start. And God help us when I get on the monorail and catch my first glimpse of the castle!! :cloud9:

I pretty much cry every single day down there.

Heck, I even cry as soon as I hit the FL state line when we're just going to the beach in Destin!!

Welcome to the club!

Don't worry... I'm emotional when it comes to Disney... I don't know, it's where families come together and make beautiful memories... I love that place and I cry too when I see the castle and my kids so excited... for God sake, when I ordered the planning cd about special gathering (not the one that is out but the one before) I was watching it with my son, sho was 8, the song "You have a friend in me" started to play and my son was teary and told me... I love that song and I'm so happy that the whole family is going to Disney. (me, hubby, my 2 kids, Sister, BIL, Mom and DAd) I started to cry and saw that Disney touches everyone and makes every moment special... So go ahead and cry... It's shows how emotional you are and how happy you are to be there... it's nothing to be ashamed off... it just shows wonderful and magical that place is... have fun and bring lots of tissue!!! :grouphug:

How wonderful that you FEEL life and all its magic and joy and hope! I am one of those people and I tell myself that it's a good thing. I cry at Hallmark commercials; I cry reading books to my kids; I have even cried during the OPENING credits of a movie!
Thankfully, I have a husband who (during my crying spells) tells my 3 boys that that's why he fell in love with me. And it tells them to find a woman like me - one with heart! Then he shows them how to handle it - by kissing my tears away!

I cry when I see the princesses in the parade...something about all those dreams of a little girl wrapped in a image of a beautiful, magical and "happily ever after" princess!

Enjoy EVERY moment! Disney will not let you down!

BTW - did you ever hear from your TA about the promos? :woohoo:

Oh my, I did so well and made it through this whole thread without crying...till I read this! How sweet.

As others have said, you are NOT alone. I told my DH earlier today that I had to be careful when I'm walking around with my mp3 player in public...I have Wishes on there and I start welling up when it begins to play.

:wave2: OMG, I can't believe there's so many other people like me! I, too, cry during the National Anthem, Hallmark commercials, thinking about Disney, thinking about how fast my kids are growing up, etc. I even cry seeing Publix (grocery store) commercials (they're always so sweet!). I think we just truly appreciate how special life and family and Disney are. Reading through this thread just about did me in. But thanks so much for making me realize I need to pack Kleenex. I didn't even think about that one and it's definitely a MUST.

Enjoy your trip to Disney. It will be so fabulous! :goodvibes

Alone? Are you kidding? Your original post made me cry! And the more posters that came on admitting that they cry made me cry even more! But I love happy tears! Bring them on!

You are certainly not alone on this one. I dread having to deal with all my emotions at WDW because DH thinks I'm nuts as it is. I usually try so hard to hold it in. But like another post said I cry because my kids are growing up too fast. But when you go to Disney, those are special memories you have together so that makes me emotional. Our trip is going to fall during TOM which will make this problem much worse! :goodvibes

 Right there with ya!! DH and DS just shake their heads and say "there she goes again". Maybe we should call us the kleenex krewe!!

I understand completely! There are so many reasons to cry over horrible things. What a gift to be able to cry over something joyful and magical!
I am taking my kids (dd9, ds3) on their frist Disney trip in January. I got to go all the time as a little girl and I need to share the magic with them. DH and I are not telling them anything. We just plan to wake them up on a snowy Canadian morning (Jan 27th) and say .. "No daycare or school today.. put these on! " (Mouse ears that we already bought for the surprise).
That .. and the days to follow will be filled with memories that I will cherish forever. Tears?? Deffinately a good thing when it comes to Disney.
It's all part of the magic.

I cry reading these posts, and I've never even *been* to Disney! I hate to see what I'm like once I actually get there. :rotfl:

I havent been yet either we have cruised but Aug. will be our first trip to wdw. I am also a 28 yr old male that has teared up reading posts on this board so, rest assured its not just a girl problem.

Oh wow, I am so glad to read there are others out there.

When the Disney commercials come on I go into sobbing fits, and I totally lose it if I am watching the Travel channel or Food network and they visit one of the resorts. It just hurts so much to want to be there and surrounded with the magic and beauty.

My first trip was a few years ago at age 19. All of my classmates and friends had gone almost every winter or spring break growing up, and made fun of me for never visiting Florida. To finally set foot on the grounds and see all of the icons I have wished to see made me break down. My mom was hugging me on the monorail as we watched Cinderella's castle appear. I could just sit in Magic Kingdom on a bench the whole day and be exploding with happiness.
