How do I get Magicbands sent to 2 different addresses?

This may be a dumb question but I couldn't figure out how to do it. In the fall, I will be traveling with my son who lives in Virginia and I live in NY. I customized our magicbands last night. We are on the same reservation number (getting a 2 bedroom) and I only saw one place to put an address so, right now they are being shipped to VA. Is there any way to get his magicbands sent to him in VA and get mine sent to NY? TIA

Does he really need it ahead of getting there? It might be tight for you to receive it and then mail it off to him. I always feel like the MB show up pretty close to our departure. But if you overnight it - it should be able to get to him before his departure.

Is there really a need for him to have it before his arrival? are you arriving at very different times?

Our family got their magic bands direct for a trip in June 2016. I had them set up their own MDE and go into their reservation (we had a separate reservation) and select MB colors. It was shipped to them along with the Magical Express documentation. I had them fill out the ME document too. We were out of the country before they purchased airline tickets and the FPs were coming due so they learned how to do everything.

So it is possible, but I expect they have to set up their own MDE and have a separate reservation from your own.

You can't.

You can change the shipping address to a different address, but they won't split the shipment between two addresses.

I always have them sent to me and I immediately put them in a special compartment of my travel backpack. Then, when we arrive, I give them to everyone.

If you are arriving at different times and checking into the hotel at different times then whoever arrives at the hotel, and does not have a magic band with them, should just ask at the check-in desk to give them some magic bands. The check-in desk can prepare these in a matter of minutes. They do not charge for them. Sometimes they even have different colors available but if not then the bands will be gray. This will not void out their other magic bands. Once they arrive they can use all of the magic bands on their account.

I just have MB's sent to me and then if anyone wants/needs them before arrival I'll send them out. It's not possible afaik to split up the MB order on a single room. If you had multiple rooms you could change the address where they went.

Can't be done, either have them sent to you and you send it to him.

I spent some time on the phone with MS/Disney (can't remember who exactly) back when we had this issue in 2016. 9 people, 3 addresses. I controlled the MDE and made FP+ (good thing, too, because the other 2 "heads of household" never bothered to set up MDE anyway), had them all shipped to me. Since we were all coming in from different places at different times, I sent them overnight, insured mail and they all got there. But the fallback would have been, if they hadn't gotten them, they could have gotten gray ones at the front desk.

Yep - there's always that. So I don't even ship them insured. :D

If all they have is Gray, and if you really want something else, all of the resorts have a Disney store just off the lobby where they sell a lot of ‘Commemerative’ magic bands. Buy one, punch in the number on the back into your My Disney Experience account, and it will be set up and ready to go. Price is around $24 for aSpecial magic band. Or you can get a regular, colored Magic Band at the ticket window for each park. Price is around $14. But we just generally get replacements at the hotel’s front desks whenever we need them. Most of the time they will have at least some colors.

Or they could have just gotten cards until you got there with the bands. If they were going to parks or the room was ready and they needed a method admission or room key.

Just mail it yourself after you receive your package. You will get it at least a month before. I think Priority mail if you want to be safer is 7 or 8 bucks. Problem solved.

I'd just have it sent to you, they can get a new generic one at the resort on arrival if needed that's extra, both will then be good on the account. It can be removed later if you don't want to see up with it. It's also possible in some cases to have the individualized ones sent to the resort instead.

Actually, the resorts all have colors to choose from now per our experience over the last 1 1/2 years. Just gray isn't it. So no need to go buy for a different color.

This happened to DS in May. He received his MB at the front desk. The ones that I received(colored) all worked.
