How do I get Magic Bands with DVC reservation?

It's been 2 years since we've been to WDW so the last time we were there Magicbands weren't around yet. So.....how do I get them? I am making my reservation tomorrow for our stay. Do I request them from Member Services?

Also...we are going with another family and booking their room using our points. We are just charging them our price---basically $5.20/pt. Do they get any of the DVC perks/discounts wile at WDW?

If you haven't already, you need to create a My Disney Experience account, either online or through the app. Then link your reservation to your account. After that you will be able to customize your Magic bands. They won't actually ship out until a few weeks before your reservation date though.

I just noticed the 2nd part of your question. If they are not DVC members then they won't get the discounts. They could accompany you for some things that require membership & staying on points. For example, if they're staying in a points room, they could go to TOTWL, but you'd have to be with them. Also, if you're purchasing TIW & you're all dining together, they could use the 20% discount. But, you would have to pay the whole bill & then they pay you directly for their part. The cardholder must pay for the discount to apply.

I'm sure there are a probably more things you could share with them that I can't think of right now, but someone else will chime in.

One other thought to get a merchandise discount for them. If they don't already have it, they could get a Disney Visa card. Then they can get 10% off merchandise purchases as long as their spending at least $50.00. Plus they'd get 1-2% back in Disney Reward dollars, depending on which card they get. I used to save a ton with my Visa before becoming DVC.

Thanks for all the info. I didn't think our friends could get the discounts, no biggie. I have the Disney Visa and DVC. I know the reward program isn't the best but I think of it as an easy way to save for our trips. Right now I have over $800 saved up in rewards.
