How do I get an avatar under my name?

I am new to this site and generally to discussion boards and I want an avatar under my name..lol..could anyone help me with this?

in the user CP (control panel) there was places to add them, there are rules on the size of the pic, so there ya go?

You can also use sites like imageshack.com to resize for sig pics or the like.
