How do I do a profile pic?

I am so new to this, and I have to admit that I am alittle overwhelmed Any advice that anyone could gve me would be awesome!

You have the option to choose an avatar pre-made by the Dis or you can upload one. You have to copy and paste a link to your photo (from maybe Photobucket or Flickr) into the avatar uploader. If your image is too large or over 100x100 it won't load. Try compressing and resizing your pic on a photo editing website such as Picnik.
