How do I deactivate a non-expiring ticket on MDE?

I have a multi-day non-expiring ticket with 3 park days remaining. I recently purchased an AP because we are planning 15 days in the parks over the next year. Currently, both tickets are matched to me on MDE. I want to "deactivate" the non-expiring ticket so that my next park visit is taken from the AP instead of the non-expiring ticket. The only notice on MDE regarding my non-expiring ticket is that it is non-transferrable. My plan is to save the remaining three days on my non-expiring ticket for some time in the future when I don't have a valid AP. NOTE: So far I only have a voucher for the AP, since I haven't activated it as of yet.

Help! Am I missing something?

Before going into a park at WDW, take your MB to any Guest Relations and have them remove your NE ticket from your MDE account and put it onto a flat plastic RFID ticket.

You can do this at the same time as you activate your AP at that Guest Relations location.

Robo, is this the new way of doing it? I had mine prioritized the last two trips....

The OP wants to hold onto the ticket for a trip "sometime in the future."

I'd just take it safely out of MDE entirely at this time by putting it on the card.

Right - that's my plan for my non-exp tix too - I didn't realize they could just take it off the account. It was automatically loaded onto my account when I created it - I think. And I have some WP admissions on them as well ...

Thanks, Robo. My plan is to go to the Customer Service location at the Magic Kingdom the evening we arrive to get my Annual Pass. I will plan to explain to the agent what I am trying to do. If I understand correctly, I will be given a RDIF ticket that I can put in my vacation drawer at home until sometime in the future when I no longer have an AP.

I just realized that my Mom is in the same boat. She has a non-expiring ticket with 5 days remaining, but has purchased an 8-day ticket for our trip next July. Is the process the same for her?

I tried to do this when I was there in Nov and had to fight with the CM to get it. He wanted to just prioritize and pushed heavily. I ended up saying that I might give to a friend to use and I might not be the one using it.

OP you might need to preface the reason I did as he quickly did allow it instead of my original - not knowing when I was using it and didn't want to accidentally use it during the rest of my trip vs the other ticket I had aka didn't trust it in MDE. Wasn't a good experience that morning but it did get done.

This is not allowed with a partially-used ticket. Am I misunderstanding?

Mine was a single day ticket that I didn't get to and had park hopper for the rest of my trip. So maybe I picked a special scenario where they didn't want to remove from MDE to a card, on the boards I had seen it was possible but fought with the CM on it. Telling him I didn't know who was to use it was the only way he went ahead to remove. Just wanted to inform the OP that they might be pushed to prioritize instead. The boards made it seem like a simple request when it wasn't in my case, for whatever reason.

Ah, okay. Thanks for explaining. :thumbsup2

That's not the CM's job or prerogative.

If something like this happens, just nicely say thank you and
go to another ticket booth or Guest Relations.

FWIW, I've read dozens of posts from guests who easily had certain tickets put onto RFID cards with no problems at all.
I would not expect a problem doing so.

I was at Guest Relations @ EPCOT.
Good luck to OP. Hope you are like the rest of the others but just had wanted to warn in case that wasn't the case for you if they are pressing to prioritize instead of unlinking. I wish someone warned in the threads I saw so it didn't give a bad taste that morning.

It's not really the location you were at, more that you got a poorly-trained CM--which can and does happen anywhere. Still, sorry you found one of them. :goodvibes
