I tried "searching" this answer before posting but have had no luck. How can I get this card?
Thx
:)

In the past, I googled "Entertainment Card". then I purchased one for the Orlando area and used it on a trip there to get a discount at USF.

You can go to entertainment.com and search for your area from there, you can then purchase them online.

Another option is to check in your city and see if there are any school groups, etc. that are selling the book, I purchased mine for a reduced price ($25 CDN) from a group selling them as a fundraiser in my area. I basically just asked anyone I knew if they could ask around and luckily someone knew someone who was selling them!

You don't have to have a book/card for Anaheim or Orlando you can purchase one for where you live, I bought one for Edmonton, AB and it will work with all of the entertainment discounts. If you want discounts specific to Anaheim then I would purchase their entertainment book but it is not necessary. All you really need (especially for the Hojo discount) is the card.

If you don't need a book you can also go on ebay and search entertainment card and pick one up cheaply - between 5.00 and 10.00...

I did as grumpy's fan said and bought mine off ebay. You can get a brand-new 2009 card (no book, so no coupons--I didn't need them) for $5 including shipping. Mine came in 2 days.

My Barnes and Nobles sells them...that's where I purchased mine. You may want to check your local bookstore to see if they carry them.

When booking one does not need the card at that time. Upon checking in, one will need to show the card. Although it is my understanding that sometimes, one is not asked to show it. Definitely have it though to show.

The link is www.entertainmentbook.com

Right now they are having a special discount........ Check it out, it sounds good. :)

Yes, it is worth it. For one will receive 50% off of the rack rate.

With the Entertainment Card, the pricing for the Howard Johnson is $59/$69 or $79.00

This is the Entertainment Book's special offer (From their site)

"Today's Offer:
Order Today and Get $10 Off The 2009 Entertainment Book! Plus, Free Shipping!"

First, check out HoJo's discussion of the entertainment rate dates.

If your dates are there, book the dates by calling hojo anaheim directly (NOT the 800 number) during pacific time business hours.

If they aren't there but you want to stay there no matter what, you can book using a different discount (like 15% off rack rates for being a disboard member or 20% off if you have or will have an AP). Keep checking the link above, as dates are added often, and you can switch the discount to the entertainment book discount.

If you are booked with the ent book discount, or if you end up with that discount, buy a book that will be good during your stay (the cards tend to expire Nov 1 of each year), and when you check in, be prepared to show it to them!

Buy whatever book makes sense for you. If there's one for your area and you want to get that book, do it. If you will visit another area of Canada and might use it there, buy that one. IF you'll visit a US place other than the Anaheim area, get that one! If all that makes sense is the Orange County, CA book, get that one (it's just that that one tends to be one of the higher-priced ones, without much else in the Anaheim area to use it on). We always by the one that's good for our area of WA, as the grocery store coupons cause us to break even or, like last year, come out ahead.

Hope that helps!

I just bought an Entertainment Book at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was on sale, and I used a coupon. So if you have a BB&B nearby, and you have coupons from the store (I get about 5 per week in the mail) that might be a great option for saving $$$.

Do I quote the card when I book or present it when I get there? Is it worth it?

Show the card when you check in and yes, it's soooooooooo worth it!!! :) which reminds me, I need to go my points and get mine ordered. :)

OK, I am convinced. Now by ordering the book do I get the card?

There isn't a city to use in near where I live so I was thinking of buying the book for San Antonio where we'll be spending a week this year. Will I get the card and be able to use it for HoJo?

Sorry to be dense about this:guilty:

Yes, your book comes with the card. You don't need the card or the number on the card to book the reservation with HoJo - just tell them you want an entertainment rate and they will book it for you. I've always had to show my entertainment card when I check in so make sure you have it with you.

This is good website for info on San Antonio - I live in Texas and use this site when I plan a visit. http://www.visitsanantonio.com/index.aspx

When you get your entertainment card/book you can register the card online with entertainment.com...I have found that I don't really use the book at all (except for grocery coupons) as many of the same coupons on located on the website.
