How do I answer someone specific

If I am reading a post ( thread) is there anyway to answer one of the threads directly, without going to the bottom of the list?/

Are you asking if you can somehow insert a post rather than having it appear as the last post in the thread? The answer to that is no, they will appear in the order posted. However, if you wish people to know you are replying to a specific post, you can use the QUOTE button in the post to which you want to reply. Then a copy of the post will appear in your response.
