How do I add Magic Express

I have a reservation starting Thursday. We decided to use Magic express, but I didn't sign up for it when I booked the reservation. How do I add it on? Do they scan your magic band when loading the bus?

You need to call... whoever you made your reservation with or there may have been instructions on your reservation confirmation.

Call DME directly at 866 599-0951.

DME is a separate company (Mears) that Disney contracts with to provide the service.

And yes, they will scan your MB when you check in at the DME podium.

Thanks! I edited it above just to avoid confusion. The sad part is I knew that and meant to put it, but still copied the number off the web site for some inexplicable reason.

When we went last year, the Disney online website only let you add your airline info for Magical Express at the time you are making your reservation. Since we didn't yet have our airline tickets (we wanted to have Disney hotel reservations first), we didn't have that info. Once we made our airline reservation, we called the Disney reservation # and they were able to add it without any issues.

We've always used this web site to add DME and never had an issue. In fact, we often receive our DME paperwork and luggage tags (when they're using them) very quickly after completing the form, even if our trip wasn't for a while.

Do they scan your magic band when loading the bus?

In "normal" times, yes, although I presume they haven't changed this procedure. They will scan your band when you approach the DME area to direct you to the queue you need to be in. They will then scan your band again when your queue starts loading the bus to verify you're in the right place. Make sure at least one of you has your band in your carry on bag.
