How difficult is this?

We are planning a trip to Downtown Disney & Disney Quest one afternoon. Later that evening we have a PS at Teppanyaki in Epcot at 7:30. Does anyone know how to transfer from Downtown Disney to Epcot? Is this possible without going to a resort? If I must go to a resort...which one would minimize the travel time? How much time should we allow for the transfer?

Thanks!

not sure if a bus goes right to epcot from DTD, but you could take a bus to the Yacht and Beach Club and walk to the world showcase from there. There is a also a boat to epcot from Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk , and YC/BC.
Travel time I would say an hour should be enough time.
anyone else have any suggestions?

Taking the bus to the BC/YC (or the BWI/BWV or Swan/Dolphin) is the best way. IMHO, it will take about the same amount of time to walk to Japan from the IG as it would from EPCOT's main entrance, anyway.

I don't recall if the EPCOT resorts always share DD/PI buses or not. If they are sharing when you are there, get off at the first stop if you are in a hurry. That will probably be the Swan. If the buses aren't being shared when you are there, take the first one you see that is going to one of the EPCOT resorts. It really doesn't take much longer to walk from the Swan (farthest from the IG) than it does from the BC bus stop (closest to the IG).

There are no buses FROM DD to EPCOT. IIRC, there are no buses to any of the theme parks from DD. Those routes were discontinued some time ago (because reportedly, most of the riders were DD Hotel guests who used the DD buses instead of the DD Hotel shuttles).

At approximatly 6:30 (give or take) the Boardwalk splits from the other Epcot Resorts. My advice would be to get to the Pleasure Island bus depot between 6:30 and 6:45. Ask at the bus info booth if the Boardwalk bus has been split, just to be sure. It will pull into stop #2. From there, take the bus to the Boardwalk. At the Boardwalk, it's a short walk to the International Gateway, which will put you between the UK and France. Japan isn't that far away from there. If you catch the 6:45 bus, this should get you to Japan for your dinner with plenty of time to spare.
