How difficult is it to use Traveler's Cheques?

We are leaving in 3 weeks!!! Yipee!!

Anyhow, I am trying to decide how much cash to take and how much in traveler's cheques. We are staying at WL. We have PS's at Chef Mickey's, Cindy's Royal Table, Sci-Fi, Whispering Canyon, and Rainforest Cafe. Anyhow, we were planning on using them at these bigger meals and cash for our counter service stops. Does anyone know if these restaurants accept cheques and also...does guest services at WL exchange the traveler's cheques in for cash?

The restaurants (sit down and counter service) all take travelers cheques and guest services at the Wilderness Lodge will cash them for you as well. You will not have any problems.

We didn't have any problems cashing them anywhere down there. Just make sure whoever signs them at the bank has to sign them there and have an ID, other than that you should be fine on-site or off!

I used them on our trip last month. I was suprise quite a few of the little snack stands took them too. So, they were accepted almost everywhere (we actually had the visa checks from AAA).

We have used them for years on trips and no problem at all, used the AAA ones from Visa last month too...Checks for two are free from them at least in my AAA area, so that is a real convenience too.

Always use Travelers Checks, Never have problems.
