How difficult is it to resort hop if staying off site?

We will be staying off property this time & would like to hop around to the resorts. I did this way back in 1997 collecting the 25th anniversary quarters. How have things changed since 9/11 concerning access to resorts for outsiders?

The advice I give to everyone wanting to visit the resorts using Disney transportation is to plan on visiting the closest theme park. To visit the GF, Poly, CR, WL, or FW plan on the MK. You can either monorail or boat to any of these. For the Epcot resorts of Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht clubs, Swan/Dolphin you can walk or boat over from either the Studios or the International Gateway of Epcot.

Whether you are staying on site or off site, it is always difficult to visit certain resorts. Like the previous poster said, if you visit the resorts that are near a certain park, that at least makes some of them easier.
