Inlaws asked us if we wanted to go to Applebees. We said no thanks, we have dinner cooking.

Made lunches for my family for tomorrow so no one will be buying.

Used clothesline in basement.

I used my 3 free 12 packs coupons from the coke rewards and got 36 cans of soda for a little over $2. (tax and 5 cents per can deposit)

I am donating the soda for a fund raising pasta dinner on sat. They will be happy.

We were going to get take out on the way home from grocery shopping but one of the ds made something.

Ds has to brown bag it tomm so I dont have to give him lunch money. There is no cafeteria where he is going and he cant leave the site.

We are going to book our spring break vacation and we are cashing in dh ff miles and either staying at the swan for free for 6 days (just resort fee) or going to the beach club garden view room for 6 days for around $700.

I am reading a book I won for free from Goodreads (didnt have to buy it)

I am adding to my list because I just saw that dh and I both have enough southwest points to get our flight going down for free. Yay, Just saved another $218.

Purchased a getaway package for our anniversary through Amazon Local - price was less than half what I spent on the same place in October :)

through orbitze which was 55 cheaper and signed up for ebates first getting me the 20% back, which will add up to be $211 in the end.

Bought WDW tickets through Ebates/Orbits and saved $308 plus earned 1580 SWA RR points for the purchase. Oh and we already have 7 days left on our old tickets so by the time we use the new tickets what ever the going rate is minus what I paid today is yet another savings.

packed Dh's lunch to bring today so no fast food for lunch!:thumbsup2 Bought park tickets thru Undercover Tourist for next Trip, still at older discount prices:thumbsup2 saved $46 per ticket that way... reserved a disney hotel at Expedia.uk to save some $$$ and use that wonderful Dis bus system on our next planned trip!:thumbsup2

Yesterday we purchased our Universal tickets. They have a 2+1 special for $125.99 for adults and $115.99 for children.

What my husband didn't know is that I had saved some money here and there to go towards tickets at one of the three places we are going and I gave him $500 :) Happy husband.

I am saving today by making it a no buy. I have some lunch meat for sandwiches and some sausage for dinner. I do have to get groceries this week, but we will be pantry/ freezer eating for some of it. Plus, I bought gluten free flour blend for me, so I can make my own bread and pasta. 5lbs for $17!!! Woot! (Yes, that is a good gluten free price!)

I am going to go through the kids summer clothing and gift out items they have outgrown and then price out what they need and see what I can find in my budget!

Yesterday was a crazy busy day with lots of driving around. I saved nothing because we ended up getting fast food since we were out so late. I bought things at the store that we really didn't need all that much (we did need some things.. it was the extra and convenience foods I could have skipped on).

So.. back to saving today. I'm not going anywhere, and not buying a thing.

Yesterday I met up with two folks who were buying things from me through a local FB yard sale group, so clutter out of the house and $15 in my pocket!

Then I got into the first aisle of the market (combined trips yesterday to save gas) and realized that I left my coupons (many for FREE items that were expiring the end of this month) in the car.... so I left my cart and made the walk back to the car to get them. All told I got $20.28 worth of food for free. Admittedly not food I would normally buy (frozen WW Smart Ones meals, WW cheese), but it won't go to waste.

Plus one of our local grocery chains is offering a 4% discount on most items for the entire year, so by driving about an extra mile or so, I saved another $4.56 (plus this tends to be the cheaper market, so win-win!).

I also bypassed the precut fruit (very expensive but tempting), the marked down bakery goods (since DS isn't here to eat it anyhow), and stuck almost exclusively to my list, saving who-knows how much more. I grabbed some limes from the marked down produce rack for my seltzers this week for .60.... nice treat.

I also did NOT swing by for a soda or coffee on my drive home, saving about another $1.

Today's lunch is homemade chicken soup made with homemade stock from my freezer (free), leftover bits from the rotisserie chicken DH had over the weekend, onions, celery, and carrots bought in bulk, and a can of black beans from the dent-and-ding shelf at the market (less than .50). We are just a family of two this week with DD at college and DS on a trip abroad (okay.... that isn't a big money saver! :lmao: ). I am home on school vacation and DH works at home, so we will have our big meal at lunchtime today.

I am resisting the temptation to have a shopping day while I am home with time to myself this week, but I may give in and have a thrift-store shopping day later this week!

Love to see how you all are saving!..............P

Took advantage of the nice weather here all weekend by opening the windows at night to let the cooler air in, and closing the drapes and windows all day to keep the temps cozy all day (it reached low 82 here yesterday). Managed to keep the inside temps between 65 and 77 the past three days without using the central air or heat. Kids complained about it being a little cool this morning, but it just made them get dressed twice as fast LOL. Also, used an restaurant gift card that was given to us for Christmas, to get appetizers and a drink on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary.

Just got back from Disney and am adding up what I actually paid oop for food. We spent $237 on the cc. And the rest we paid for with the $400 in Disney rewards from our cc and $100 other restaurant Gc's i picked up.. We lost a little because we stayed in a hotel both ways driving down and back, which we dont' usually do.

Had to go to the grocery store and I saved $3 with coupons (not my best!!) and saved $15 in store promos. Plus $6+ dollars in gas points.

And now today I'm back to earning as many swagbucks as I can, since i took a break while on vaca.

I just bought a retired Franklin Mint/Armour airplane for $25 at my local consignment shop. It sells consistently for $200 or more on Ebay! :cool1:

I think I'll keep it for awhile though as it's freakin' AWESOME!!

so far today I have :
-opened the curtains all over the house to let the sun help heat things up. My heat has not kicked in on for the last hour and a half (small savings, but every bit counts):goodvibes
-used ebates for 1. tickets to Disney world and universal studios-will get 20%back so around $490 and 2. Booking a 1 night stay at universal's newest hotel will be getting 6% back around $9.00 saved!
-tonight is leftover night and salads - no take out, no grocery trips!
:thumbsup2

Instead of spending $20 on a manicure with a friend, she came over and we used the nail polish I had gotten from a Julep box (paid 3.99 for three polishes but got $5 worth of swagbucks for it)

Took dogs for walk around neighborhood instead of taking to dog park (saved $2 per dog and cost of gas)

Tonight we're ordering pizza out to do a mystery shop that will reimburse the pizza cost plus $8 so that's our treat of the week, everything else will be cooked at home.

I packed mine and DD's lunch today (we usually pack lunches though) and I have dinner in the crock pot already. Yum!

Brought lunch from home and packed lunch and dinner for DH. A few days ago DH put new brakes on his car. We used the 50 off $100 purchase for the parts. Front brake job with new rotars for $125! And yesterday I ran the concessions for the swim club all day to save 50 percent off her fees - saved$900 this season by doing this.

Do you realize how lucky you are to be able to do that? DD swam for 11 years.... 10 years on one team, last year on another. For the first 10 years there was nothing done/said to be sure that ALL parents volunteered (other than emails reminding everyone that we needed "all hands on deck" of course). As usual, some parents volunteered all the time and other snuck out of it and used every excuse in the book to avoid it. And we were a hosting team and hosted a LOT of big meets, including the YMCA state meet every year. It was really annoying! Over the years I was "team Mom", I did ribbons and awards, concessions, and for the last several years I ran Meet Manager.

Our last year she was on a team that required a $100 deposit from each family at the start of the season. If you volunteered for at least three events (this team wasn't a hosting team) during the season and recorded it, you got your $100 back at the end of the season. Volunteering included timing at meets (of course), serving food at some of the team get-togethers, stuff like that. Super easy... and STILL we had folks who found excuses!

So anyhow.... over the course of 11 years of swimming the only thing that I got from my HOURS and HOURS of volunteering was some GREAT friendships and my $100 back! So consider yourself LUCKY to have an opportunity to get reimbursed some of the fees!

Saving money this afternoon consisted of procrastinating! I needed to make a bank deposit but didn't really want to go out. I waited until DH was heading out and asked him to stop by the bank! :lmao: Saved gas (since he was going right by the bank) and my time! ...................P

Over the weekend I made turkey stock from our Thanksgiving turkey bones that I had shoved in a bag and stored in the freezer. I finally had time to use the bones! Out of one turkey carcass I made two batches of stock and ended up with 21 pints of delicious healthy turkey stock that are in jars in the freezer!

I also made other items for the freezer: lemon poppyseed muffins, breakfast burritos, cooked turkey "sausage" patties, homemade English muffins, a batch of chicken enchilada soup (10 servings), and turkey sweet potato chili (6 or 8 servings). I planned to make chicken noodle soup as well but Costco ran out of celery so now I have to wait until my next Costco trip...but the shredded chicken is all ready to go and I have chicken broth in the fridge from making the chicken. :)
